Does it get warm when using for everyday purposes?I am using 2024 space black Apple MacBook Pro m4 base configurations. Got it with education discount.
not only is it beautiful. sleek, fast with no lags... the battery life is amazing.
I am running all the apps concurrently such as telegram, whatsapp, outlook, safari, ppt, excel and Notes in cafes. No slowdown and battery life is very good.Does it get warm when using for everyday purposes?
Good to know that it's running well. For the price it sure is attractive. But I waiting for M4 macbook air which should be releasing next year March.I am running all the apps concurrently such as telegram, whatsapp, outlook, safari, ppt, excel and Notes in cafes. No slowdown and battery life is very good.
I even occasionally run iMovie together with the above mentioned apps. No slowdown. Couldn't hear the fan too. I even open autocad and draw some 2D drawing before copying and pasting the drawing into my ppt slides. Couldn't get to stress it too.
Have been using it for 2consuecutive weekends with a total runtime of 8 hours. The battery dropped to 67%.

Intel is going to be in deep trouble the longer they keep ignoring their rot.I am running all the apps concurrently such as telegram, whatsapp, outlook, safari, ppt, excel and Notes in cafes. No slowdown and battery life is very good.

Intel didn't invest in their manufacturing process in the last decade and got stuck at 14nm for too long. That's why they earned a lot in the last decade cuz they didn't invest enough.Intel is going to be in deep trouble the longer they keep ignoring their rot.
Users are switching to Macs, not Qualcomm ARM laptops.
I'm just waiting for FaceID to reach Macbooks, and then I'm sold. In the meantime, Ipad can do the job I need it to do when I'm on the go.
Why downgrade to MBA M4 ?Just a quick update.
I have just sold my MBP M4 for $1850.
Getting ready to buy MBA M4 with 512GB SSD. Should be arriving next Wednesday.![]()
My usage is pretty light. I only use it for web browsing, whatsapp/telegram/wechat, music listening, email, MS office apps and iMovie. Use AutoCAD regularly and Final Cut Pro occasionally. Why downgrade to MBA M4 ?
Bring it out for whole day = unplugged whole day.My usage is pretty light. I only use it for web browsing, whatsapp/telegram/wechat, music listening, email, MS office apps and iMovie. Use AutoCAD regularly and Final Cut Pro occasionally.
The M4 MBP is already overkill for my usage, not even the M4 Pro or the M4 max. it's so ridiculously efficient that i have never used below 70% battery even when i brought it out for the whole day.
Save money, lighter... I am not really a pro user. I always use it in clamshell mode at home so i won't appreciate the good screen and speakers.
Max is 5 hours outdoor usage on the past few weeks.Bring it out for whole day = unplugged whole day.
Never used below 70% battery even = ....?? How many hours did you open and use your Macbook?
Hence, may I correct you by saying: SELDOM USE YOUR MACBOOK EVEN WHEN IT IS OUTDOORS.
Anyway, I think Ipad seems to fit your usage pattern better, but the Ipad + keyboard can be heavier than M4 MBA.
My opinion is Ipad and MBA needs to be combined into a single device. Perhaps this will eventually happen when Apple perfects their own 5G modem and ditches Qualcomm forever.
Well, good that you are pointing out how Apple is intentionally crippling their devices for market segmentation purposes so that you are forced to buy multiple Apple devices.Max is 5 hours outdoor usage on the past few weeks.
iPad will not suit my workflow. How to draw accurately on an ipad without the precision of a tip of a mouse cursor, while still listening to music, using telegram/WhatsApp and browser and also connected to some external storage?
I don't use an ipad because of its limitations.Well, good that you are pointing out how Apple is intentionally crippling their devices for market segmentation purposes so that you are forced to buy multiple Apple devices.
M4 Ipad Pro 1TB has the same chip as M4 MBA. It is technically feasible for Ipad to run MacOS, and MBA to run IpadOS, but it is not allowed to happen.
