Mbfc is a hassle to get there

UOB Privilege Banking lounge in Raffles Place is nice. You can get red wine there after work. Meet up with friends. The one in mbfc has nice views. You can get the RM to arrange a room for lunch there with friends.

alas, why i never makes use of all these perks?? even dbs rast time, i see the uncles and aunties meeting in the treasures lounge for free drinks and snacks with no intention of using the bank services on that day makes me :s22:

maybe someone should start a thread on how to make full use of these perks :s13:

That's the only perk it seems :) But still if you wish to say withdraw currency in SCB, you would be better off going to Battery Road branch normal counter vs going to their Priority branches, as I am sure they won't have it unless notified earlier.

I wonder what is the reason to visit banks counters, as nowadays pretty much everything can be done online or perhaps via simple email request to relationship manager.

DBS treasures get the overseas ATM withdrawals fees waived together with Amex Black credit card fees waived as well.

I wonder can these be done using Internet Banking?

CO of more than 200K

Transfer more than 100K to another bank or someone

And you forgot shorter / no queue to get fresh notes for CNY :D

For red packets you can call RM to send to your home, normally for Priority/Privilege Banking customers the designs are not the same as for retail customers.

For fresh notes can also call RM to get ready the amounts you want first and you can collect later together with red packets.

For SCB, you can get the same Priority/Privilege Banking privileges for your spouse and children.

IIRC last year SCB's priority banking red packet designs were the same as those for retail customers. However the private banking one was different and rather nice imho.

I did not compare but I noticed the SCB PB red packets had the words "Priority Banking".

Some of the big foreign banks here also give red packets to their employees and some are nice looking like JPM, Barclays, RBS, CS and Citi.

Hi all, I called citigold today n for a deposit of $200k as a new citigold member they will give $500 cash.

Sounds like not bad a deal if u have spare cash not to be used for stocks . Are there any caveats to watch out for, especially when transferring out the money or closing citigold next time?

the biggest caveat for that is that the board rate for your spare cash is almost 0%. think there is a minimum period of 6 mths before you can close the acct.

Just out of curiosity, how often do account holders go to the lounges/bank counters? I thought about private banking, but I ended up spreading money out over different banks, in different countries. Basically just looking for better deals/fees and managing it myself rather than indirectly paying for an RM to do so, I suppose.

I visited Uob marine parade branch and asked a bank officer to show me their privilege banking lounge. It was quite basic and the place was surprising quite crowded.

Hi when u say board rate do u mean interest rate? Am thinking of putting into a usd fixed deposit where there's a promotion rate right now.

Having PB is not only about accessing their banking lounges, you can do things like buying/selling otc bonds, buying ipo bonds, apply new cards, open new accounts, get invited to special events, free airport lounge access, free Jetquay access, free airport limo etc

Read their t&c on their website, I was told you can do both (a) and (b) at the same time when you open Citigold a/c and deposit 200K, you will get $500 in a month's time and you can close after 3 months.
