I don't play any games on this PC anymore, what is the cheapest way to replace the cooler?

Buy a Thermalright PA120se for $59 at SLS can liao. Its one of the best air coolers in the market with a low price. U may think it is an overkill for buying such a big air cooler but u need to think ahead for when u buy a new system eventually. This cooler can be used on ur new system or act as a backup cooler if u decide to use a better AIO cooler. Dun waste money on cheaper and smaller air coolers. PA120se is the best price to performance u can find right now in terms of air coolers.

Personally im using it to cool my i9-13900K now and i can tell u it is really good... while doing full video rendering, it manages to keep my CPU temps at 80c for the entire duration of the rendering. While some cores still thermal throttled, it still is very impressive to be able to keep most cores under 100c at full load.

AIO lifespan is around 3 - 5 years, if it is faulty like nosiy and high temperature
best to change it.
Cheapest like someone mention Thermalright PA120se around $70 (PCThemes) will do fine.

If temperature is constantly hitting 90 Degree as well as occasion freezing than best
to change the AIO.

just in case u should check your rams height and case room...
coz the cooler is rather on the bigger side plus the 2nd fan u might have to push up a little...

I never really pay attention to the noise as my system is sitting under my desk pretty isolated but imo its pretty silent... never had any issues of loud fan noises roaring from the system. I think its quite well built... can feel its a very premium product.

I'd just buy the cheapest coolers out there. Either an Intel stock cooler from Carousell or an ID Cooling SE214XT for $30. The platform isn't worth investing so much into, unless you plan to reuse the cooler in your next build.

Hi, i was thinking, the noctua cost around $190, since the whole system easily cost $3k upwards, its a small percentage, if the heat is well manage, hopefully the system can last longer.

My last system lasted almost 8 yrs, in between change the PSU only.

Do you OC your cpu which rated 91w?

if not normal 4 heatpipe single fan air tower setup is more than capable to handle the single core performance unless you have requirement for all core then dual fan setup is recommended

air cooler plus decent thermal paste like mx4 less than S$50 is a good pair for 91w cpu

as long the AIO is compatible with LGA 115x, you can consider

Then you have to consider if you're going to upgrade soon. Because if you're not, nobody really knows if the next platforms after AM5 / LGA1700 will be compatible with the same cooler mounts.

Most likely yes but not 100% sure, so the best you can do is either get a LGA1700 compatible cooler and just hope it doesn't change, or just get any cheap cooler to tide you over. I'd pick the latter myself.

Err.. I only know Cooler Master heatsink support all generations.
Even if there is new socket down the road like 3 - 5 years can request
for the mounting kit from distro/SLS FOC.

Other brands I am not sure, I only know Noctua does but a bit troublesome
and need to pay for shipping since there are no distro for Noctua here.
Don't worry too much, see you are not intending to buy a really expensive
CPU Cooler.

Just get Cooler Master Hyper 212 ARGB and get over it.

When you get a new PC down the road maybe 3 - 4 years just overhaul the entire PC.

i think lga 1700 is current different for 6600k.
if u dont want to pay much then get a brand new stock stock cooler thats the cheapest i think 10-15 max
