Thanks, will just buy a cheap intel stock cooler, hope that is good enough.
lga 1700 compatible or not for 6600k?
LGA1700 compatibility is in case you want to upgrade later. Any modern cooler you buy new now will be compatible with LGA115x, which is what the 6600K uses.

I think my corsair H100i for my 6600k is crapping out, it's very noisy.

I don't play any games on this PC anymore, what is the cheapest way to replace the cooler?
I have a Corsair H100i as well. Paired with my i7 4790k since Dec 2014. Still working in 2023. Almost 9 years now. Before changing cooler, you can double check one more time. Take your hand and feel the Corsair h100i tubes, if you feel vibration in the tubes means AIO pump still working.
Tips came from this video. 6:43 onwards

Typically I won't advice using AIO that long, longest a AIO lifespan is up to 5 years.
Is not I say one most AIO warranty is either 3 years or 5 years and there's a reason for it.
For yours if it is working than you can leave it as it, back than CPUs are too demanding
on cooling so even air cooling can do fine.

However I suspect by now your AIO fans should have change.

I still recommend you just change it especially given it's age.
I do encounter AIO leaks before and these AIO coolers have used past it's warranty period
like 3/5 years.

Yes sir, you guess correctly, Corsair h100i AIO fans I swap out for Noctua fans in 2019. The stock H100i Fans that came with the AIO sounded like a jet engine on startup, then beginning in 2019 it started to have weird noise rattling issues, like not enough oil in the fan bearings. One reason why I change to Noctua fans. Attached 2 images, 1st one is my Corsair Carbide 540 case from side view for reference. 2nd one is Corsair Link Temp stats for H100i w/ i7 4790k as of June 13th, 2023. Not sure if you are interested but I'm open to giving away my functioning H100i when I upgrade my PC sometime Q4 this year. If you're interested in tearing apart my H100i and take a look inside. :)

Get a new GPU cuz RTX 3060 is around $400.
980 Ti was a beast back than but now if you put on Carousell.
It is not worth more than $100 seriously.
