You don't have to change casing everytime they introduce new interface. You can either get a front bay bracket if your casing allows, or a rear bracket. These will need to be plugged to the internal headers on your motherboard.

In all chassis is something like a long term investment. It can go on and on. Unless it rust or something.

Depends. There are a few type of usb connectors.

Some is just a screwed on to the front io with a plastic etched.

Some is moulded into the front io.

Some is a motherboard with some integrated circuit inside.

I've been in the same dilemma as you last week trying to decide between

Phantek Eclipse P400 MidTower,
Phantek Enthoo Pro M W/ Acrylic side and the
Corsair 400C.

One thing I really look out for in casings is for it to be as Dust-proof as possible.
The Enthoo Pro M failed in this category as the front side are not protected from any filters at all.

Next thing I look at is the size and space I have in the case. The Corsair 400C is really too small for my liking.

I ended up deciding for Eclipse P400, until I chanced upon another casing which met all my requirements even more.

P400 had way lesser slots for HDD and SSDs as compared to the one I saw. And the cable management was way harder on the P400 too.

Eventually I settled for Fractal Design Define S Window!

Just built my new rig ytd, really happy with the casing spaciousness and design.

Hey teddy, what made u pick the define s instead of the r5?

Both are really really similar actually. But I don't find myself going to use the 2 x 3.5" bays.

I love having an empty looking and spacious feeling inside of the casing (helps with air flow and looks really clean)

The fact that there are no 3.5" bays allows another 140mm Fan to be placed at the front.

My current configuration is having a H100i 240mm Rad in the front (top 2 fan slots) pulling air into the rig.
Right below the rad, I have a 140mm Fan pulling cool air into the rig.

The drawback is, lesser HDD slots and lack of 3.5" drive bays for CD drives and etc..
But I get what I want in return. Clean rig with excellent airflow.

Oh yeah, and the Define S is a tad bit cheaper too xD

the interior of enthoo pro m acrylic paint to me is damn thin...while installign ssd to the front area i accidentally let go of the front tray and gouged the paint til can see silverish...seems like oni 1 layer coat is applied. LOL maybe i should have installed it behind instead . i wished it was like xigmatek asgard pro which had powder coated matt finish. man, i could slide a - head screwdriver lightly on it and there would nhot even be any visible scratch...dat is wad i call good quality paint.

One thing to note though, 400c legit compact so things like rad might get a little tight inside. Cable management is a little on the tougher side also in my opinion. The biggest issue is just the psu shroud will always sort of get blocked by an atx board when putting in, sometimes will jam and requires a little force to push the shrouds in. Need to take care of the front panel cables too if not the psu shroud will choke the cables

Got the case and about to build it. May i ask how you route your hd audio cable? Through the middle hole of the 2 bottom shrouds? My hd audio connector is right at 7 o'clock of the atx board.

the last or middle hole of the psu shroud shud be barely reachable to ur mobo...its like they make it swee swee no extra length lol

yar man the space inside is super huge...put a gtx 1080 still have space for front 240 rad...its also has quite a depth to it, noctua monsters HSF no sweat. but now got tempered glass version, may be worth waiting for, now everything tempered glass sia jealous
