As of 1 September 2021, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 177 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection.

2. 54 are linked to previous cases, and have already been placed on quarantine. 33 are linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance. 90 are currently unlinked. Amongst the cases is 1 senior above 70 years who is unvaccinated, and is at risk of serious illness.

3. In addition, there are 3 imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. All of them developed the illness during SHN or isolation.

4. In total, there are 180 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore today.

5. We are still working through the details of the cases, and further updates will be shared via the MOH press release that will be issued tonight.

Summary of local situation · As of 1 September 2021, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed and verified that there are 177 cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection and 3 imported cases. · 499 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation. There are currently 22 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 5 in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU). · Over the last 28 days, the percentage of unvaccinated who became severely ill or died is 8.3%, while that for the fully vaccinated is 1.1%. · As of 31 August 2021, 80% of our population has completed their full regimen/ received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, and 83% has received at least one dose.
