Isn't investing the free cash into shares will yield better return than 2.5% p.a. CPF interest rate?used and repaid with cash.
investing comes with risk. I am already quite vested in shares outside of CPF already. Just wanted to a "bond" component in CPF so I refunded my spare cash back then (interest rates back then was low with FD around 2%).Isn't investing the free cash into shares will yield better return than 2.5% p.a. i did something similar but it takes forever for OA to regain back so quickly. 288k OA is quite a lot.i transferred once from OA to SA in my late 20s. That was the only thing I did. Don't think I top up with cash before.

I also feel poor. These people are my inspiration! Certainly much better than the 1M65 guy who made a big show for publicity.I feel poor, below avg after looking at the balances of others. Do you guys keep doing cash top-ups every year ?
Always look at your glass as half full, not half empty!I feel poor, below avg after looking at the balances of others. Do you guys keep doing cash top-ups every year ?
I treat them as inspiration so I can work towards the goal!Always look at your glass as half full, not half empty!
Let me share a "grandmother story"!
When I was at U, the lecturer said, looking at the current CPF Policies, when you start work and by the time you reach 55, you will have a million in your CPF!
We just need to focus on our career, increase our income, we will be a CPF millionaire! At that time, there were less schemes and incentives like all these "topup hacks/loopholes/backdoor" nor investments! So can you imagine how savvy was my lecturer! He wrote a book on Financial Institutions and we used it in our studies.
Nice balances esp for the SAHere's a more normal CPF rate. Haha
