wisely is the only son, all mum's asset will be pass to him anyway.

No doubt that all she have will end up with the son eventually. But the son has accelerated the process because he has a bright plan if not agenda.

But the mother will have to live her remaining life and habour the anxiety that the son will never have a change of heart or the daughter in law will be just as filial as her son, if he decides to marry. Or the son will never be blinded or cheated by any woman and forsake the mother.

Or may be he acted this way because someone is woeing the mother.

Someone woeing the mother is a real thing.

Got a friend whose mother owns a fully paid fully and still working with low pay. Some useless bump is woeing her and the daughter becomes paranoid about it and can't do much to love in the air :s13::s13::s13:

So you're saying that it is fair for TS to say his mom is "returning" her money to him while in reality she is "giving" her money to him? :s8:

there is no money transacted at all.
if ts does nothing, the mother will not be seeing any money
if ts does as he planned, mother will not see money as well.
the difference is the title deed. mother's name just disappear from the title deed.

In scenario 2, what happens if wisely and mother don't live happily ever after one not so good day?

For scenario 2, mom can live in HDB and you can live in condo if you and mom don't live happily ever after one not so good day.

this what i mean that everyone must keep their own part of the deal.

my mom and wife has been living in the same home for many years already. wife is more filial than me. this is one big advantage of getting a malaysian wife. most singaporean girls will not want to live in mother-in-law.

i dont see my mom living anxiously at all.

How is it possible that if TS does as he planned, his mom will not see money? You mean after TS's mom sell the flat, the money straightaway goes to TS bank account?

with my mom, when i bought her flat, I wrote of cheque of 500k to her. this is because the lawyer needs proof that i have paid my mom. after the lawyer took a photo of the cheque, i tore it up. The cheque was issued from a joint account with me and my mom. My mom did not even know that i wrote the cheque
when we bought the hdb, my mom did not do anything. i just made her sign all the required document.

if ts does nothing, mom see no money
mom can pretend that she did not see money if ts does as he has planned as what my mom did.

you people are too filled with distrust, even with your own family members. this is why you cannot see benefits of many things.

my bank account is joint with my mom since i was a kid. she can withdraw my money anytime she likes. she never does it.
my mom's account also has my name. i dont touch her money either.
when i give her ang pow on her birthday, i just do a internet transfer from our account to our account. i put the transfer note into the ang pow.

Good to know that your Malaysian wife is filial and willing to live with mil.

Mother will never show anxiety whether it's there or not. She can only pray quietly that every is fine for you and your family as well as herself :s13:

there are many ways to do thing.

some of you draw a thick line between you and your parents.

some of you draw a thick line between you and you spouse.

to me, there is nothing between us. it is my own family, we trust each other totally. we have decades of records to prove our trustworthiness.

in this way, we can reap the synergy of sharing.

one such synergy is that we have a joint dbs account with three names. we are able to increase our cashflow for our multiplier tremendously because of this

cannot talk too much, or the multiplier hackers will come in and get me

yes.. one can also pool their money together and become an accredited investor and have more investment options open to them (e.g. a family of 3 pass all their money to one guy to get him accredited) and so on. many opportunities.

but honestly though, no point continuing to debate about whether this is right or wrong, beneficial or not as it is basically a clash of beliefs. It is a very grey area. It is like akin to a Buddhist asking a Christian to convert to Buddhism and the Christian asking the Buddhist to convert to Christianity. Some ppl are comfortable with it while some aren't. Just do whatever you think is right as long as you can sleep well at night.

i just made her sign all the required document.

What problems?

My father has a joint posb account with me, but the whole 6 figure balance in it is his and earning 0.05% only

I brought my to a bank and made him sign all the required documents to open a joint savings account that offer 1% interest. Then I transfer 49k from our joint account to the new account (with his prior knowledge).

Without telling me, he told my sis that 49k has been drawn from his posb without his knowledge or permission and he is not happy.

He also told another sis, I had use his money to buy a hdb flat as I had prior to that bought a hdb flat in his sole name in preparation for a day when my sis would kick him out :s13:

But he never question or tell any of my sis that he is receiving the monthly bank statement from the new bank that shows the 49k plus better monthly interest.

Now he doesn't trust me. Like that how?

What this means is that, it is his money, and you shouldn't touch, regardless of how low interest he is earning or how stupid he is managing his money.

it is about the father trusting his son will do the right thing for him
