My CPU keeps restarting after starting it up. So start up-> fans turn for like 5s -> shuts down->repeat. My monitor does not even start up.

I tried the following:
-Tried removing all RAM and putting it one at a time to check whether its my RAM that is spoilt ->same thing occurred
-When starting up, the graphic card/cpu fans still run for the 5s.
-There is no beep from the motherboard

I suspect that either my motherboard/PSU/graphics card is spoilt. How can I make sure which is the root cause? (i have no spare MOBO or PSU lying around...)

My rig:
i5-3470
Asrock b75
4gb ram X3
hitachi 3.5 hdd
saphhire hd7770
FSP 500w hexa series bronze

If either mobo/psu/graphics card requires changing, what mobo/psu/gc can I change/upgrade to?

remove gpu use onboard graphic to test, but i think is more on motherboard or power cause the problem. Have you check the system temperature?

Reset your cmos by removing the battery for 10-15 mins.
Then try to run via one mem stick + IGP.

If cant work try to test if your PSU is malfunction by doing a simple short on the 12v cable. If no problem then;
If cant work, then check the heat sink is mounted properly or not and reapply thermal paste.
If still cant work then RMA liao.

Your PSU is spoilt or under powered. Borrow another psu and try again. Good Luck.

Is the restart only on cold boot, meaning the first time of the day? If you pc works on subsequent restart, could be due to psu problem. Encountered that with seasonic when there is bad batch. TS you can get to Google if there is such problems for your fsp psu

Today the fans spin for 0.5s! Then it dun even start up at all when i press on the power button. I tried the paper clip test but the psu fan dun work too! It seems to be my psu problem. Any suggestion for a better psu? My psu broke down twice within 3years. Is it because the watt is nt enough for my rig?

I have the exact same problem, using asrock mobo too, rig as in ------>
posted a few days ago too, but i have no time to troubleshoot. For my case i have to keep turning on and off the psu switch until the com starts all the way, kind of like "revving an engine" kind of thing.
Then the com will run all the way until i shut it down and i have to repeat the process again to get it running. Sometimes, the com blacks out and power off by itself aftr awhile of running.

Looking at nigel's thread, i see that alot of people suddenly have the same problem. I wonder why?
