Btw, this was before i ended background app called prime95. In task manager i have checked its 55- 65 temp. After removing it, its around 10.


btw, can background apps cause the spike to increase drastically?

nope, i do not have proper antivirus/firewall. I only used adblocker and ccleaner sometimes.
i have just checked its less than 10 on task manager and on ryzen master. please recommend me on the anti virus/ firewall software. Thanks.

Check that your stock cooler PWM wire is correctly connected. A wrong connection can cause the temps to spike or give a wrong reading.

Prime95 is not a "background app", it's a CPU stress tester. Remove it.

42c is good and normal.

You should consider bitdefender if you want an all in one solution. Or just stick to Windows Defender and Windows Firewall

In your latest screenshot your temps look fine. Just uninstall Prime95

If you have CCleaner, remove it from the Startup option. Or:

How is the spread of the thermal paste when you remounted the cooler?

The temp is certainly abnormal. I've used a Ryzen 7 2700 before, and even with a low profile cooler, surfing net should not see the temps anywhere near 60 degs.

You should definitely check the cooler mounting, if the cooler fan is connected to fan power connector, and lastly, if the fan is restricted from spinning or not obstructed from pulling air in.

properly mounted heatsink (with thermal paste) and spinning fans
thermal paste are not put excessively aka surrounding of socket (and the center of socket) are clean
cpu on idle, less than 5% cpu load
have casing fans installed, one front one back

i would suggest to send the mb for servicing, might be sensor broken

Ok, i will try it out again. But i don feel the heat from the CPU at all. i am using arctic thermal paste.

Yes, The MX-4 paste is v.good. Funny you mention the CPU is very at 98C and again mention you dun feel the heat from the CPU.

I thought TS already solve the problem because his p95 somehow auto-ran in background every startup.
