I have dogshít CPU temperatures for this game too. The latest update increased CPU usage as well for the bot faction because of their increased intelligence. Devs claim that players will 'take a small performance hit' but that's bullshít because I got my fps halved instead when things get intense. This game is just brutally CPU intensive and with every patch adding new enemy variants the CPU usage is just going to climb.
I hit 103 degrees peak without AC on when playing against the squids before (urban environment map) until I did some thorough PC cleaning 2 months ago and the temps dropped back down to 'decent' levels but then my CPU is a little old already and a known hot chip. Even after doing that my CPU averages late 70s to 80s in this game. CPU usage and temps scale with difficulty levels because the higher you go, the more enemies spawn and I always play on the hardest.
I think the kernel based anti-cheat is also contributing to the high CPU usage as well. City biomes hit the CPU harder too with average fps dropping by at least 10-15. Every update that drops new enemy types is going to inevitably run worse, it's a known trend for this dev. Used to have much better fps back then and now it's just not as smooth anymore. Really hope they can optimize their game better.

That's good for @Vanyel to undervolt. anyway additional info for those using Arctic Liquid Freezer III on Intel.
This can improve temps.. but will need to purchase though.. https://www.arctic.de/en/Intel-LGA1700-1851-Offset-Contact-Frame-Mounting-Set/MPSAS01261A
I have tested it when Arcitc recently sent me this contact frame.. I am able to drop temp even further by 8°C on load non aircon. At load max 83°C I7 14700K

With all the amount enemey AI especially the higher difficulties, cpu usage usually stays around 60-70% for me. I undervolt my 5700x3d ( with TT AK 120 mini ) , temps are about also around 60-70 ( non air con room )

Honestly it's not the game, it's your cooler is not sufficient enough to allow your cpu to run a heavier workload, so any CPU intensive game like Helldivers will cause the same issue.
Highly recommend to undervolt so that you don't need to spend any money
