lol lazada cancelled my order dunno for what reason...then $$ stuck there.

i went down to sls to cash and carry myself @ 379 :D

setup liao, test a few songs and movies...not bad i say

the led light is a bit irritating though. :s22:
Led light can be turned off. Katana is targeted at pc gamers who wants a minimal design.

TV - optical input no additional features (just plug & play).

PC - usb input for 7.1 surround sound and other features.

Sent from Nokia 8800 without using GAGT

Promedia 2.1 BT vs Creative Katana 7.1

Hihi,

Does anyone know how is this compared to Promedia 2.1 BT that is also in stores like Challenger?

I felt a bit dubious when the store staffs told me that it was a 7.1 system as it is hard to believe that a tiny soundbar like the Katana and a sub could form a 7.1.

I've yet to properly test the sound.. but does anyone know?

Have the same feeling, some of my friends told me too its impossible to have a 7.1 unless your room is the exact dimension as the room. Anyone know too if normal youtube can support 7.1 sound???

As far as i know, nope.

I'm actually quite curious on this haha. I have never heard the sound of this soundbar before.. But I really doubt it can beat the likes of Promedia 2.1...

Katana is indeed virtual 7.1 but you need to use USB.
Which to choose? That depends on you.
Promedia 2.1 is 200 watts, improvement over the older model.
Good for music, games and etc.

Katana is designed for gaming, much more feature and connection
than Promedia.
Which suits you, you have to test. Z
Some may need gaming power than they choose Katana, if you are a music and movies lover Promedia power is suitable for you.

It is not native 7.1 which means 7 speakers and 1 subwoofer.
Basically Katana creates a virtual 7.1 environment thus
whether music, youtube and games you still have 7.1.

However you need to use USB for virtual 7.1.
Optical is 5.1 (varies on source), Analog is Stereo or 2.0 audio.
It is basically the same with a real Soundbar.

It is VIRTUAL 7.1! So, it's not a physical 7 speakers and 1 sub! For myself, speakers that are separated will be better for surrounds! You can check it out at Bugis Challenger! They have a variety of speakers there!
