Hi guys can I check if I can connect the katana to both pc and ps4?

Don't own it yet but been reading up.

Connect to PC via USB.

Connect to PS4 via Optical.
But if is PS4 Slim got no Optical out port so need a HDMI Audio Extractor box to split out the audio to either Optical or 3.5mm to connect to the Katana. I think HDMI Audio Extractor box SLS should sell.
Or if you connect the PS4 Slim to PC monitor with a 3.5mm audio out then can connect from the monitor to Katana.

Audio quality from Monitor is bad.
PS4 Slim definitely is a headache since it does not have Optical so only HDMI.
As it is PC with PS4 usage, not possible to get proper Soundbar with HDMI to solve the issue.

Since PC monitor does not have HDMI ARC port thus such Soundbar with HDMI cannot work.
Alternative is get a cheap HD ready TV ($350 or so)
than add a Sony CT-80 Soundbar connect VIA optical to the TV.($139).

That is the cheapest setup and fuss free setup but provided you have budget.
However HD ready means 720p not full HD.
PS4 slim is indeed only for use with TV unlike PS4 pro since it have optical output you could use PC monitor.

Bought a unit during Cyber Monday.
Just set it up yesterday.

Some rumblings as I tweak while listening to MP3 on Winamp.

The only thing I got from it is that it is very very very very very LOUD!
PC volume cannot go higher than 10 otherwise too loud.
Soundbar volume must stay around 5.

Still tweaking around so far only a bit of Crystalizer is ok.
Sometimes will sound a little bit robotic.
Add Immersion will sound like lose detail, also its only off, wide and ultra wide not analogue like Crystalizer.

Ok, I just on Cystralizer at 50 and off everything else.

I feel that need to fumble around profiles for each media, not so plug and play need a lot of tweaking.

Bass not as good as my old Labtec speakers.

To me the only thing about this soundbar is its loudness.
Kind of disappointed.

USB for PC.

3.5mm for my PS4 Slim.
Tested FFXV with Gaming profile and its loud and don't know if I not used to it that it sounded rather unnatural. At town the BGM is comfy but in battle suddenly BGM louder, don't remember my Labtec like that. The volume is more up and down compared to my previous set up.

yes i kept it all the way at volume 5.

anything more than 8 is too loud for a room.

especially watching movies.

music is fine at 10 though but have to decrease the bass to -3 or -4

chinese slow songs too much bass will die :s22:

My Katana plug to my monitor's USB hub.
Was in a game.
Just now off monitor and go eat dinner, off monitor auto sound off I like.

But now on back monitor the game no more sound and SB Connect software cannot detect the Katana.
Off and on the Katana also cannot.
Ok, I exit the software and open it again, SB Connect can detect the hardware again.
But game still no sound. Windows test speaker is got sound.

Guess must use the long cable connect to the PC instead, though they say to use the short cable in the firmware website.

one thing i dun like is the headphone port is located behind the soundbar.

if it's in front will be better.

everytime have to flip down the soundbar to remove the jack

Just use a long cable like Elecom, their warning maybe just to let customer if can just use their stock cable as fear if customer use unreliable USB cable with the system.

Maybe at later time, opt to consider investing a TV for use with PS4.
So you can connect your Katana to the TV and PS4 slim just connect
direct to the TV.
