For me the Creative brand name is already linked to, cheap, run of the mill products of average quality.

SWH already say he not audiophile, but do you know your market ? Do you know what people who buys headphones are looking for? Having said that I do applaud their effort in making of the E-Mu headphones. But for goodness sake can give a cooler sounding name? The teak cups are a plus for me :D

*Don't know why E-Mu gives me a mental image of a camel :s13:

https://www.theedgesingapore.com/creatives-super-x-fi-blow-away-vr-and-ar-gamers-dbs

"We assume that Super X-Fi would be able to capture a 0.5% market share of the global headset market in FY20 ended June, resulting in sales of US$232 million," says Mittal.

DBS has a fair value of $5.56 per share and $8.10 per share under its conservative base-case scenario and bull-case fair assuming 0.8% market share, respectively."

Now Dbs release their fair value. So now can already guessed who pushed up the volume earlier.

Creative cash on hand about $2.25. Anything lesser, considered buying a business for free but then again they burning cash on research.

Creative marketing is weak which I agree. But like in these past two year , they have turned to social media a lot instead of out right advertisement on traditional media. They are giving free product for trusted reviewer (amazon) or review at your own website ( you can apply directly at their website) .
For the US launch of roar speaker , they find a singer to endorse it and post on his facebook/twitter (its the same singer who worked with City harvest church for the horse first US album, I forget his name). Which for me was a failure. The singer I believe was from Caribbean with US citizenship and his followers are mostly are blacks which beats is already a strong brand.
Mr Sim have realise his mistake, that is why in the business time article, he say for Super Xi fi , he is selling the chip instead of just the finished product. Its a good move, other brand of headphone who is using the chip can market it more successful due to stronger branding then creative.
