Has anyone tried Ctrip singapore before? How reliable is ctrip as compare to Agoda, I used Agoda most of the time and I'm travelling to Beijing this coming December and looking for a budget accomodation. I found 7Days Premium(Beijing Chaoyangmen) over ctrip web site but, when I tried to make a booking over agoda, agoda doesn't has 7Days Premium(beijing chaoyangmen).

Please kindly share your tips and advises/experiences here as I will be arriving beijing in the middle of the night and I have heard that some local hotel chains in china really nasty if you don't make the proper bookings.
Thanks.

I had ever make a booking via ctrip for a hotel in shenyang, took a taxi there, and was only told that their hotel has no qualification to take in foreigners [foreign passport holders]...

If I were you, I will make a call after ctrip booking, to check if they allow foreign passport holders to check in....

Ctrip gives you more choices in the case of hotels in China because it is a Chinese travel portal. Agoda is not strong over there. I always use Ctrip for my trips in China, better yet the Singapore version so you can be assured that the Chinese hotels listed on the site can take in foreigners.

Yes, to be sure, call ahead to check if the hotel can accept foreigners. I usually use the Ctrip Singaporean site to have greater assurance. The China version of cTrip portal is the top portal for finding hotels in China, but not all the hotels listed can accomodate foreign guests.

I did try Ctrip booking on my prev trip to taiwan around June. All was working fine with no issue, they even reply my email quite promptly. Ctrip seems to be quite famous is China. Normally i will booked thru either Agoda or Booking website. But due to their attractive price and rooms availability that compare to others, so i decide to give it a try.

Thanks for introducing the ctrip Singapore site, did you notice any price discrepancy for same hotel on same nights?

Arrival in the middle of the night, get a hotel near the airport. Ibis price isn't too bad and I think they have a free shuttle too (depending on time). Pointless to head into the city. Buffer in your taxi cost.

Is it cheaper to book rooms from 7-Inn website rather than ctrip ?
Does 7Inn registration/booking require the irritating-asking-for China handphone number ?

I have direct booking Japan Toyoko Inn many times but decide to DIY China travel more next year.

I have booked through the Ctrip Singapore before. It is as relieable as other OTA and I have not got any problems checking in Beijing and Shanghai!

Anyone used ctrip for other countries hotel ?

Do they have an office or hotline in singapore starting with 65 ?

I understand that some OTA have very attractive prices.
however some of them does not have a singapore hotline or office.
Some have had reviews claiming that they are not reliable ...
such as AMOMA.COM hotel website ...

for hotel bookings in china, there are two main players, ctrip and elong. i have used both of them countless times for my trips to china and only once did i not find my booking, and that was for a very small hotel.

so all in all, thumbs up for these two :D
