I somehow think the committee lost touch with the Singaporean people on the ground....

When they announced the 24 hours MRT service, people cease off a bit.... so maybe the queue was faster in the daytime... then they says the no 24 hour MRT services tonight... guess what.. the queue waiting time went right back to 8 hours...with people now off work...For those without transport and working to midnight....almost no option to go...

Tomorrow I guess will be hell if they continue with this micro management... some people will probably take off tomorrow full day or half day.... the trains need to be running 24 hours tomorrow.....

Tonight....the train should run at least to 2 or 3am..

Invited guests only. The University Cultural Centre is just a venue, nothing to do with NUS students or staff having access to this event or not. All the foreign leaders and dignitaries will be there for this state funeral.

Started to queue at 1310 hrs and left the parliament house at 1546 hrs...

Saw this moving sight, an official guided a visually handicapped man with his guide dog to the nearest mrt station.

I think we need to ease off abit of the sense of entitlement here. Before we start demanding free round-the-clock shuttle buses from every neighbourhood to Parliament House.

MRT services are being extended to 12:45am with feeder buses running till late. Night rider services will run throughout the night. You still have your means to make your way home using public transport. If the last mile from the night rider to your home requires some walking distance, you can take a cab.

At the end of the day, SMRT and SBS Transit are listed private entities. Given their recent breakdown woes, it'll be disastrous if the prolonged hours lead to major faults in the next few days. It'll be the worst 'tribute' to Mr Lee isn't it?

there be Night Bus
20mins for Services before 3am
30mins for Services after 3am to 6am

Agreed with you there... I take my post back.

Not looking for entitlement here... but just highlighting the human dynamic at play with regard to crowd going to pay their respect. Just highlighting that there are folks working shift who need the transport home if they want to make it there.

Agreed the trains need the downtime for maintenance....

Went in the morning 10am.
Queue 2 hrs.

Road marshals very efficient, NSF working very hard , under the hot sun to setup the tents
And policewomen helping elderly & disabled.
Helpers give out fan, umbrella and water.

Such scenes hard to see again.

Ugly scene: few Sinkies cut queue.
