this is not a selling thread...

google 4k curved monitors, tabao/qoo10/lazada/ebay etc or go simlim/funan and ask around

Thanks will google that! Using Amazon as a reference now.

What it means is that you cannot have all of your criteria in one monitor. There are 4k monitors under 1k but they are not curved and are TN panels. When you want something, you have to give up another.

You want a retina-quality, curved 4k monitor under a thousand bucks. Good luck.

Hmmmm.. Sorry I'm not sure of the pricing as well, I've seen some 34" curved monitors below 1k so I assume that they are around that price range

But so far I've seen this Dell UltraSharp U3415W which seems to be the best seller in amazon with 1.4k reviews as compared to the rest here

I am seriously considering the Acer Predator though

what do you guys think?

You do know that curved 34" ultrawide monitors have a lower resolution than a 4K monitor? And that they usually come in two resolutions, 2560x1080 or 3440x1440? You have been looking at these instead. That's why they are cheaper than 4k monitors.

And most importantly? USD, not SGD

you give a budget of 1k but the monitors you are looking that seem to cost 1.5k. That aside, there are no 4k widescreen curved panels that I know of.

The reason is the limitation of DP1.2. It just cant drive that many pixels. Even the "5K" monitors need to be driven by 2 DP1.2 cables so each DP renders half a screen of pixels. You do get some inconsistencies here and there but by and large it works. The exception is apple who customed the..but you dont need or want to hear this.

So, ultimately you need to decide what you want. If its curved widescreen its 1440p. If its 4k, its often 27-32" screens

Thanks for the patient replies, then maybe I shouldn't have indicated 4k nor retina, maybe a curved monitor around 1k that has a substantial amount of resolution will do.

Do you think the monitors listed in Amazon will then be a good guide for me to consider that fits my criterias? Or do you think there are better monitors I can consider

The obvious answer is if you don't need g-sync, go for the dell.
