IMO, I think Singaporeans are paying significantly more for our TVs compared to our neighbour countries. Merchandise like TVs, DSLRs etc are usually sold with "free" items like another TV, $100 Mastercad, camera bags, tripod etc. All of these are already factored in the price and you really end up paying too much. I think most customers do not want the "free" items and would rather get a cheaper price.

For example I was in Bangkok two weekends ago. PowerMall in CentralWorld was having a sale and the LG 55EG910T was selling for 45,997 baht which works out to be $1,800 without any "freebies". In Singapore, the price of the TV can range from $3,300 to $2,999 before negotiation. I personally bought this TV at Best Denki for $2,599 with the "free" TV and Mastercard. Of course, there is the "free" wall mounting service by LG included in the price but I end up paying $800 more than I would have paid in Bangkok. Still cheap to bring the TV to Singapore and paying the 7% GST. Only problem it is too big to hand carry and warranty is not international.

Thank you for listening. End of rant.

Today paper Gain City "sale" selling 910T at $3.5k with freebies! Didn't realise they are as bad as Audio House! Got "free" extended warranty but obviously that extra 500 already factored in. Are the Gain City people related to Jover or what? Walauweh, want to cheat people also don't be so extreme la...

Today's Straits Time ad from Harvey Norman: LG 55EG910T selling for $3587 and says that you are saving $312 at this price!

Seems that demand for the 910 must be high such that LG or their retailers are jacking up the price significantly. LG has the only OLED TV in Singapore market with no competition so they will chop carrot head Singaporean. No wonder Singapore is seemingly expensive compared to our neighbouring countries.
