Saw the 55" LG at Best Denki and was really surprised at the sharpness. Sure it may not be 4K but come on lah, how many DVD/Blu-Ray/console games are in 4K? Also, it may not be 4K but to me the true black feature is more important and I must say the blacks on OLED is certainly better than 4K LED TVs. Plus the OLED is damn thin.

Now I just need $5,000 to spare. LOL! Anyone here already using the 55" LG Curved OLED? Any reviews?

No need for 5k. Best Denki current listed price is $4299 for 55EC930T. But can go down to $3999. During one promo period it even went down to $3699.

Im using it. The contrast and black level is very good. LED is not even close to it. Should just go for it. No point getting 4K, was using a 4K TV before this OLED.

What do you mean go down to $3999? As in promo price or as in you sweet talk the sales guy and beg him to lower? :s13: Crap lah I used to have a reservist buddy who sold TVs at Harvey but he left liao. If not can get good price. Frankly $3,699 for 55EC930T is a steal. Provided it is 55EC930T lah not the older 55EA970T.

55EA970T is already mostly phased out. So I know what I am talking about. Go down to $3999 means asking sales person to give their best price, no need to beg. Under current promo, it also comes with a $300 stored value mastercard.

That seems a reasonable enough price. You found other places that can be cheaper or are you waiting for the new OLED models from LG to arrive?

Black is good but the contrast on those shade is not that detail as compare to a 4K TV.

Contrast on shade not detailed? That seems to be a very strange description. On what basis do you arrive at this conclusion? If you do so by comparing the current OLED TVs in SG then it is not a very fair comparison since the OLED TVs in SG are only in FHD.

That is resolution.....not contrast. For TVs below 65inch...u would be hard pressed to see the difference.....plus u need 4k content at that. Anyway, seems like u're not doing a apple to apple comparison. Take a 4k TV, both OLED and LED with 4k content.....then can do a fair comparison.

For now, OLED is the next wave......if they can resolve certain technical issues as well as cost. If u've owned a Plasma.....u will understand.

Before I get my 4K, I compared the oled and find that the black is excellent. The color is vivid as it's
stand out from it's excellent black background but the detail shadow on those black patch was masked by the too black nature.

That time, the oled price is still very high.

By the way, I was using a plasma b4 that.

I'm waiting for the cost to go below 3.5k with free gifts. :s13:

Living without a tv for the last 3 months.
