I was attracted to the 4K OLED. It's really amazing picture but price is very expensive and doubtful on it's lifespan.

But the picture is really excellent.

Yea OLED has excellent PQ, but it's really expensive. Theres a competing technology by some other brands called quantum dot using nano crystals. Almost as good as OLED, but cheaper for brands to manufacture.

I think it is very important to under contrast vs resolution. Normally, OLED has better contrast ratio as all LED can turn off to get a true black.

What's the point of all the resolution when there aren't sufficient supporting formats vs. proper picture quality.

You can ask any videophile and anyone will tell you the 2nd feature is more important now.

Curved is good for movie. But not day to day watching. One example is when you watch those news program. All the table and boxes seem to ho curved too.

That y I won't be happy getting a curved tv. Probably I want a tv can provide much more viewing experience. Beside movies. I watch football and ps4 gaming too. No matter how I look at curved tv. It keeps on giving me reflection.

It depend on who you ask. A salesman or a technical person. Salesman in normal, will try their best to push older model out of the shop first. What is no one the paper is cpu speed and newer software/firmware build in with better way of implementing and process the video. The next most important is the real panel type is used. Technology is moving very fast and hence advantage is price will also drop.

Was quoted $3,850 (inclusive of $300 LG Prepaid MasterCard) from Harvey Norman.

Extended warranty 3+2 from Harvey Norman costs an additional $609 for the last 2 years.

15% off $609 if you are an NTUC Union member (or borrow any NTUC Union member card).

The absolute lowest price was an LG promotion quite some time back at $3,699 (inclusive of $300 LG Prepaid MasterCard).

The newest Curved OLED 4K LG 55EG960T will ship in Q4 2015. No RRP yet, but will be higher than Curved OLED FHD 55EC930T.

I was told that the lifespan of LG OLED was around 300,000 hours due to the improvement of the 2nd generation by the salesman. Am I being BS? I can't find much information online except that OLED has a short lifespan compared to LED.

the panel may not breakdown so easily but how about other parts inside eg DAC, power supply card etc.

I guess final determine factor is the price. Just like not many TV programs are in full HD. But full HD TV price has dropped and even cheaper then those HD ready TV.

Another one get sold by the sales man. He need to sell you that OLED TV and forget about you for the next 300,000 hours?

I guess this is calculation by theory. Just like to LED bulb. But in actual, many failed before life spam. Also do not forget other components that make up a TV. Is not just OLED alone.

Strawman argument.

You can take their line of thinking and use it on any model of TV in today's market.
