Custom Gaming Rig Advice Needed

Hi all,

I wish to build my own rig (and I either probably have to pay someone to assemble it for me if I get the parts separately or go to a shop in Sim Lim and get everything)

Prices in brackets below are from PC Themes, my budget is actually 1.5k so I probably need advice as to how to bring the amount down as it is now over..

CPU + Motherboard: AMD R5-1600 + MSI B350 Tomahawk (502)
GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 6GB AMP Twin Fan (419)
RAM: Cosair LPX 2400MHZ 8GB x 2 (199)
HDD: Toshiba 1TB 7200RPM 3.5" HDD SATA (63)
SSD: Kingston V400 120GB 2.5" SSD (85)
PSU: Seasonic Prime 650W Platinum (239)
Casing: ~75
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper Vortex 211P Cooler (35)
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-Bit (158)

Current Total: 1775 (need to bring this down to 1.5k, how? )

Get a cheaper psu such as super flower and go carousell buy $20 windows key.

you can drop the cooler too, that cooler master cooler you listed not going to make much difference vs stock cooler that you getting from 1600

Drop the cooler, get w10 from carousell for ~$10 and get a cheaper PSU. These extra $ can pump into GTX 1070

Should i go for g4560 gtx 1050 for $600 or i5 7400 gtx 1060 for 1k?

I don't mind playing all games at lowest quality, but i also want a decent future proof rig.

After looking through your various advice, I went on Carousell for a quick look and these are the changes that I would like to make:

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 650W Platinum - $190
Windows: $11

Minus the cooler I think I just hit around $1.55k which is still above my budget, anything more I can cut? I don't think I can go for the GTX1070 even with these cuts

Also, is 650W enough? Or do you guys recommend 750W?

I also need help with casing - any recommendations for type? Preferably around $75ish, thanks!

- Superflower Leadex Gold 650W from PC Themes $169 (-$21)
- $100 Zotac Voucher from Carousell that can be used in PC Themes and Dynacore $60, based on availability of item during the time of this post (-$40)
- Tecware Edge $69

This would offset the budget you need. FYI, Superflower and EVGA PSU is the same thing with different branding label.

Supernova P2 650W is what i am using now to power my GTX1070. Even if you throw in a 1080TI, this psu can still power it no issue.

I see ur setup, i do not think you need that sort of psu, now or in the near future. Just grab a Corsair CX650W psu at around ~ S$120. It's more than enough for your current rig and your future rig. That is ard S$70 saved.

I see ur setup, i do not think you need that sort of psu, now or in the near future. Just grab a Corsair CX650W psu at around ~ S$120. It's more than enough for your current rig and your future rig. That is ard S$70 saved.

If its Corsair CX650, might as well go for SF Leadex Silver 550/650w sua.

You can take that off if you're not comfortable with Amazon set. Still within your budget by changing psu to Superflower and the Zotac Voucher that people won from Nvidia event.

Take note, not everything is cheap in amazon as compared to local. With the rise of qoo10, i can get some items cheaper than what amazon is offering and still comes with local warranty.

Do u really need the 6GB ver? To me, by the time it uses up 6gb worth of memory, your gpu cores alrdy maxed out and throttled down le.
