Hi guys..

After ive read the recommendation for $1k gaming rig in this forum and do some reading on specs, Ive come out with the below.
The PC will be used for editing photos and play games like World of Tank and Mechwarrior Online.
Pls advise/recommend/comment if there are better cheaper alternative and if items below will cause a bottleneck on some parts.

Thermaltake Core V1 Mini-ITX Case bundle with
Silverstone SX500-LG 500W Full Modular 80+ Gold SFX-L - $190
ASRock H97M-ITX bundle with
Intel i5-4460 - $440
Zotax GTX960 2gb twin fan - $319
Kingston 2X 4gb RAM - $67
Samsung EVO 250gb SSD - $129 (lazada)
WD 1TB Blue - $76
Windows OS - (Reddit)
Total $1250.

Thought want to get the cheaper ASRock H81M-ITX, but from the specs, it does not have WIFI.. so opt the above.
Is it better to get the H81M and then get Wireless adapter?
PSU - prefer full modular.

As much as possible would like to bring the price down.

Many thanks in advance.

TS, borrow your thread arh, I also need the similar requirement as yours. The suggested CPU+MB+WIFI+BT: Intel Core i5-4460 + Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI @ $457 is far expensive than the usual suggestion CPU+MB: Intel Core i5-4460 + ASRock H81M-HDS R2.0 @ $306. I need either a CPU+MB with WIFI or I get a PCIE WIFI adaptor.

I just got the GTX 950(SGD 206) and SSD(SGD118) from Lazada. My purpose is to build a durable system mainly for entertainment and gaming. My total budget is SGD 1,000. Now I left SGD 676. Hope all the pros can give me some advice :)

The usual suggestion is of mATX hence not suitable to TS's requirements. That is if you do not have space limitation then the usual suggestion + a separate WiFi card will be your better bet. Intel Wireless-AC 7260 (with PCIe adapter and antenna) standalone retail package is selling for $85 at Laser....

Then again did you really need WiFi card or possibly able to connect to router directly via LAN at your home? What internet plan and router are you using now?

Some suggestion with your remaining cash:

Black-White-Blue Themed

CPU+MB: Intel Core i5-4460 + ASRock H81M-HDS R2.0 @ $336
RAM: Crucial DDR3-1600 CL11 8GB @ $60
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB @ $77
CASE+PSU: Armaggeddon Microtron T2X [White] + FSP Aurum S 500W [80 Plus Gold] @ $119* (Lazada Singapore)
WIFI: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless-N Single Band 300 Mbps [PCIe] @ $55 (Cybermind)
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit Product Key [OEM] @ $28 (Reddit)

Total: $675

Thank you bro. Few question out of curiosity
1. Why Armaggeddon Microtron T2X, instead of Sharkoon T28? i seen almost all your recent suggestions is Sharkoon T28 and T2X is the first time. I noted the Sharkoon T28 got built in fan but T2X doesn't have it. Or is it bigger the better?
2. I think I would have sufficient place as I will put the CPU on the floor.
3. The router is placed very far from my room. I am currently using the TP Link router wr700n. But sometimes it is not working, so i think i just want to play safe and get a wifi adapter.

1. I've chosen this chassis to fit in your budget. This is another good-looking chassis that resembles much like the higher-priced NZXT Phantom series. Feature-wise it still packs all the essential things you'll need hence you should really consider it. It does not comes with fan though. But 1 will cost around $10 only. So not a big deal.
3. You may want to consider powerline adapters instead since too far as i'm afraid getting new WiFi adapter may not help to resolve your wireless coverage issue. Your router can be another source of issue for wireless stability.

Thanks ! it looks great but i will get the black one. If the case doesn't have a fan, do i have to buy and install one or two ? If I don't, what will happen?

The wr700n is a powerline adapter. I think i will try using the adapter first. If really can't work, then i will get the wifi adapter. Really appreciate your help !

Ive managed to get the graphic card, SSD and Superflower PSU.. thanks for the help.

Now need to travel to SLT for the rest..

Never buy anything from SLT before..
What is the best day and time to visit Tradepac/ PCthemes?
Will the shops be crowded on sunday?

TIA

SLT not same as SLS! SLS near Burlington, SLT is a stone throws away from SLS. SLT never sell components, mainly screws and other stuff.

I think you go during off peak lorh. Maybe 6-7pm?

Hi guys.. I have some problem with space. My table is only 70cm width!!
With 23" monitor, it will have not enough space for thermaltake case (26cm width).

Any recommendation for slim case that suitable for below rig configuration?
Budget less than $100.

Many thanks in advance.
