Dark rock pro 4 mounting

I have just mounted the cooler on, and it wiggles side to side a little, maybe 1 to 1.5mm ??. Don't think i got the installation wrong though.. it's pretty straight forward for am4.

Anyone else noticing the same ?

Mount pressure. With good thermal grease a little wiggle is possible and normal. What really matters is the pressure and contact area between hsf and CPU

OIC. ok.. temps seem hot and my fans are blaring.... but prollly cause i havent set anything up in bios.. doing it now.. haha

Once firmly mounted, it shouldn't wiggles.

Did u use the washers provided? If yes u might want to remove them.

No. Am3 needs am4 doesn't I know that.

They suppose to be at 24.3dB(A) at maximum fan speed as stated at website. Unless that is unbearable to you but it seems quiet to me..

What board and cpu combo are you using?

Ragna - temps in max heat prime 95, case closed now is around 76C average. Been running for like 20 minutes now. Room ambient is around 30-31C. Earlier when i did cinebench, it went up to 65-70c thereabouts.

In windows idling, no idea why the processor doesn't throttle much, temps are around 45-50C (excluding spikes here and there).

I havent played with any bios settings yet aside from RAM and fan.

are those temps ok?

Your temps are OK. I assumed that you have PBO enabled?

I have no idea. I haven't played with bios in anyway aside from the basic. It's a new mobo as well. Aorus 570x master

Oh. Those temps are very good. Make sure:

1. You have the latest BIOS
2. Try to update to Windows 2004
3. You have the Ryzen chipset drivers installed and the Ryzen Balanced power plan enabled.

On my system, with 24c Aircon, I can idle at 25c average.

Also, watch out for background apps like RGB apps etc. They can keep your CPU awake.

all of the above has been done. by the way which is the temperature gauge which everyone is using?

Hwinfo reports several, (tcl, ccd1 and 2, average). While Ryzen master reports lower than all but similar to HWinfo's CPU DIE Average.

Yeah it's not up or lifting. Just wiggle left or right...

Anyway I dunno man, my temps like not very good. Cinebench 20min passes 80-82c, some times spike beyond 85 but never hit 90c. I think pbo is enabled by default cause I see the wattage drawn is over 105tdp. Should I disable it ? At the same time reseat and reapply paste ?
