DATA USAGE CHECKING ON STARHUB.

Hi Guys,

Just to enquries , does anyone know how to check the DATA PLAN
USAGE on the STARHUB MOBILE?
Like how many data that been using to make sure we don't over the 12GB.

For Singtel we can check *72266 and it will prompt out the sms
that u been using Local Data Usage: 7961MB

As for Starhub what is the number to check anyone know ?

I was with SH, no iPhone app to check your usage.

Singtel now has the iPhone app.

any one knows if there is a way to get M1,Starhub,Singtel to RESTRICT the amount of data used per month ?

eg. 2GB plan and limit it to 5GB per month, thereafter they cut off the data.

Tried M1 but they said it can not be stopped

Can be stopped, just don't want you to stop.

Indonesia telco sell prepaid data plan, once you use up, you cannot surf anymore until you buy another plan.

There don't seem to be any technical reason why restriction on over-usage can not be put in place.

Just that every single action taken, restriction put in place or freedom given by telcos to their customers is naturally meant to maximize profit.

Reducing bundled data from 12 to 4 GB (that by the way is one of the most brazen daylight robbery in the world ever), allowing you to 'up-size' for just a small additional monthly charge, only then NOT to limit your data usage (until some major public outcry over bill shock some years back then they impose a max billing cap), is all a part of the plan.

12GB is so easy to max out, depending on your usage. Please take the statistics waved before you by telcos that an user only use an average of 2GB per month with one big bucket of salt.. Especially when you are smartphone user with the latest, biggest model that does everything automatically for you in the background.

Anyone noticed a significant increase in data usage these few days.

I haven't been using the phone much (below average) for the pass few days. Mainly just some browsing on instagram, Facebook, and everyday I get about 250MB to 300MB.

I used to clock about 120mb everyday.

Damn fed up, anyone facing the same thing?
