How is it possible the bank is able to purchase the shares under RSP for ANY amount?

Any guru can share? Thanks.

what do you mean?

Supposed if i choose $5000 for RSL on a ETF, will the bank always get to purchase the units using all of $5000? If i purchase $5000 for the same ETF from the DBS Vickers, I may not purchase anything the whole day even i put a buy queue.

RSL? You mean RSP?

They never guarantee a fixed number of units you will get.

If say you invest $5,000 (ignore fees) if price of share is $1, u get 5,000 units.

If price of shares is $2, u get 2,500 units.

Yes, the bank essentially buys via a market order (i.e. buy at prevailing price). I presume in ur vickers example, u used a buy limit order (i.e. buy only at or below a specific price).

think he meant that if he set up a RSP of say $1,000,000.

POSB is still able to buy $1,000,000 worth of units at the same price in just one day.

Whereas if he were to queue up himself to buy $1,000,000 worth on a particular day, he probably wouldn't be able to get all $1,000,000 worth all at the same price, but over a huge range, or that there may not even be enough sell orders to fill his $1,000,000 buy order.

"How is the purchase price determined?
The purchase price of ETFs will be based on end of day NAV declared by the fund house on the business day your account is debited. It may not be the same as the last traded price of the day.

You may refer to the issuer’s webpage for the NAV of the specific ETFs, which will be available on the next business day."

I started RSP on 13th this month, and got deducted on 15th. Until today I have not seen the transaction in ibanking. My dashboard just show 0.00 in my investment.

1) How long will it take for the RSP amount to transact into the ETF units?
2) Will the RSP being recognized as this month (Oct) category?

TIA

Is yours reflected? Mine deducted 15th till now not reflected investment category in Bank and Earn. Seems like an anomaly this month?

Yes, that is what i meant.

Sorry for the confusion.

Means DBS in this case is sure to be able to purchase the total share worth (disregard the price) ?
