Hi all, apologize if this has been asked before, but correct me if I’m wrong please, regarding the new interest rate change, assuming one has $100k in multiplier account, and fulfill 3+ categories. Does it mean over a year, 2% * 50,000 + 3% * 50,000 which means $2500 in interest earned assuming the funds are there every month and category is hit every month?

You seem to have plucked the 2% and 3% interest rate from the sky, to illustrate your point, so i won't pick on that. Everything else is largely correct, though you will also get to earn compounded interest (which is negligible in this case i guess).

Ah I went back to read some posts, the 2% and 3% is assuming one is able to reach 30k transactions in a month. I do have a vickers account but my risk appetite / broker knowledge is not big enough to buy and sell shares on diff broker to hit that transaction...guess have to wait n see liao

However, I find it so trivial, if I am a person with 30k transactions every month, what is $2500 annual interest worth to someone like that. Probably just an afterthought

The richest people in my social circle, are also the ones who have never tasted a starbucks, always wearing unbranded clothing, and eat $2.50 cai png for lunch. They don't build wealth, by treating $2,500 like worthless paper.

Just wondering is the salary the bulk of ur eligible transaction?
tbh and seriously, don't have to be concern about this and make yourself miserable if other people really earning that much right? doesn't change anything
