words of caution using SG FinDex
- it is somewhat "permanent" as the access granted lasts a full year
- if need to, dont link too many accounts
- no way to unlink after linking ... it lasts a full year !
- everytime u refresh, it could inadvertently mean agreeing another full year of sharing
- iirc, CPF info will also be linked (cannot opt out)
have to read the SG FinDex Terms of Agreement for fine print, which the banks do not make explicit
that's my experience linking SG FinDex with SC

don't quite get it. what's the difference between this digiportfolio and normal $100/mth RSP?
Rsp u can choose either ETF or unit trust at min starting from $100.

Digiportfolio u can only choose global or Asia, and the level of risk 1-4 you want. Cannot choose what exact 100% ETF that your final portfolio chosen consist. It's a mixture. Min $1000 fresh to qualify monthly.

so it's like.. you give DBS the rights to view all your accounts and in return they recognise your income category?

that's like.. what's the relevance? heh

so for someone who's not exactly into buying funds/trading but just want to unlock the investment category, the $100/mth RSP seems the right way to go right?

and they get to keep whatever's retrieved ... even though it could become outdated

this is MAS reply after a query

"You have asked how you could remove your XXX and CPF data so that it is no longer available to Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (SCB).

As each data retrieval can only be made with your consent each time, SCB will not be able retrieve further updated data from XXX and CPF without your further consent. Further consent is initiated only when you click on the “Update Now” button on SCB’s online platform. As for existing data from XXX and CPF that is already retrieved by SCB’s platform, SCB is permitted under the Terms & Conditions, which users have consented to, not to delete the data even if the linkages to other banks are subsequently removed."

be careful what u consent ... by syncing n refreshing, it is deemed consent given

Is this mean we need to topup digiportfolio $1k every month?

digiPortfolioNEW

  • Valid for new digiPortfolio purchased/ top-ups after Multiplier Account is opened
  • Minimum qualifying amount is S$1,000
  • The investment amount will be recognised for the month post settlement date

for the digiportfolio, after the initial $1K, must top up at least $1k monthly subsequently to unlock the investment category?

So if one just wants to depend on the sg findex to meet the income criteria (no SAL and dividend credit) does one have to keep refreshing and syncing every month? Or is it just set one time only? Thanks

Invest Savers makes more sense if your intention is just unlocking a extra category. Digiportfolio is more for those who already have intentions to invest Digiportfolio, or trying to up their monthly total transacton to hit the next tier in thousands (doesn't make sense but well, some ppl do that).

Sometimes it's for promo, like past few mths Digiportfolio has been running 7.7 8.8 9.9 and coming up 10.10 promos, get $18 back upon investing Digiportfolio. So to some this works out to zero additional output (provided the investment value don't drop more than $18).
