What is this CASA? I can’t seem to find any info online. I thought CASA stands for Current Account Savings Account?

any bonus interest beyond the multiplier 4.1% is greatly appreciated 👍

DBS/POSB does not advertise CASA promotion on their website.

There are 2 channels of signing up

By Invitation

If you are in their invitation list, when you log into DBS internet banking via browser, at the bottom right corner, you will see a message that goes like that…get an upfront interest of 1.48% p.a. with a short tenor of 3 months…Click here to find out more.

If you do not see such message, then you are not in their invitation list.

But you can still visit a physical branch to sign up a slightly different version of CASA Promotion.

I have previously downloaded the Terms & Conditions (TnC), & the registration deadline is 30 Sep. & the earmark period is about 3 months. I did not sign up via internet banking (1.48% p.a.) but went to a physical branch to sign up (for 1.58% p.a.).

At Physical Branch

When I signed up in early Sep, the rate was 1.58 % p.a. & earmark till 5 Jan 2026.
The TnC stated the registration deadline as 30 Sep.

The rate was revised downward (on I think around 19 Sep) to 1.38% p.a.
I do not know whether the registration deadline remains 30 Sep, & whether the earmark release date is still 5 Jan 2026 or pushed later.

Unlike the invitation list whereby interest is credited upfront a few days after registration, the interest for signing up at branch is credited after the earmark ends. E.g. for the early Sep CASA promo, the earmark ends on 5 Jan 2026, the interest will be credited latest by 31 Jan 2026.

The key advantage of CASA Promotion is that you can select your Multiplier AC. You will still get your usual interest for Multiplier. The CASA 1.48% p.a. or 1.38% p.a. is extra - & the only condition is that the amount will be earmarked/ locked during this period.

By the way, you do not need to earmark the full amount. E.g. if you have $100k in Multiplier, you can earmark/ lock say $60k for CASA, & leave the remaining $40k unlocked. You will get Multiplier interest on $100k, & CASA interest on $60k.

Just curious, you put $100k or $200k for the CASA promotion?
Believe your multiplier account can go up to $200k for the high interest since you have join the DBS treasures.

Sounds similar to UOBs periodic earmarking promotions except better coz UOB need fresh funds but I suppose casa doesn’t? So technically can keep earmarking at the prevailing rate, just that need to make a trip to the branch and wait an hour or so?

Depends on when you go? May not need to wait for an hour?

yeah. sounds like that. like someone shared, the bank 'sells' it like they're locking your money against potential scams.

anyway, if you're already earning from multiplier, this is like the icing on the cake. so why not? unless you cannot afford to lock up the money... then it's unsuitable for you.

DBS/POSB CASA - correct, no need to inject fresh funds.

But if some unexpected events happen & you need to use the earmarked funds before/ on the Earmark end date, then you will lose the entire CASA interest, whilst for those fresh funds promo by other banks (e.g. SC e$aver. MB iSavvy), you are still entitled to the promo interest for those days when the funds were with the banks.

Another important point to note for DBS/POSB CASA promo is that: the bank may release the earmark a few days early, but you must not touch the earmarked funds until & include the Earmark end date. E.g. if Earmark end date is 5 Jan 2026, you can only transfer your funds out on or after 6 Jan 2026.

Thanks for reminding me. Have yet to ask my RM whether I can cancel existing 100k CASA and do 200K CASA. Intend to bring my funds from UOB on Oct 1 but CASA rate might have changed by then. But if I top up 100k now, I have some opportunity cost to move my current nvested funds

Why you don't want to keep existing 100k then do another 100k later? You cancel means you might give up the current rate, assuming you manage to get the earlier 1.58% one.

Always keep and check against the tnc! If move the funds out early may end up forfeit the whole period interest.

It is auto downgrade when you dont fulfill the conditions, they dont charge any fall below fee, so you can wait until they decide you downgrade you.

For me, they didnt downgrade the premier debit card yet, I am still using the same card but the cash back is limited to $300.

If funds are earmarked, there is no way to do the transfer out from your account, unless maybe if you go to the branch and request to cancel the CASA arrangement.

If treasures, able to add another 100K to multiplier? This would be very interesting....I received invitation several weeks ago but ignore it as need to maintain TRB else will get monthly fees, but with CASA & another 100K, then definitely can be considered.

I read CASA T&C no 5 - For customers with multiple accounts, only 1 registration per account is allowed for this promotion. So I thot I need to cancel earlier 100k Casa and then apply for 200k Casa. Perhaps my understanding is wrong

The per promotion refers to each promotion, come next month can participate again usually.

Anyone used dbs app to schedule future dated payment? I noticed the scheduled payment screen doesn't show future payment after the recent app update.

Now i based on app notification/email to confirm I didn't scheduled double payment.
