A lot of people here don’t realised hwz as big as it might be, is still the minority.

If it is the majority, cards like these, if it is really that bad wouldn’t even be introduced.

If everybody thinks like you, such cards wouldn’t even exist Liao.

but the fact that it still exist means not everyone thinks like you
why you thinking about the general population here? we are having this discussion on hwz which means that we should be discussing based on the people who are reading this forum not the uncle auntie that the rm will be hard selling the card to

anyway anyone knows if you can use their tax payment facility to clock the 8k?

it is not really about which has the best benefit as you can have them all, it is about how much return you can get for your next spending.

Annual fee can be easily covered by the 25,000 miles + Accor Plus + PP.

for 60K of existing customer, you get more than 4 miles/$ for $8000.
for 40K of existing customer, you get more than 3 miles/$ for $8000.

I am sure that people with 120K income have more than 8000 expense earning less return, which can be shuffled to the next 2 months.

you are falling for the marketing trap. the 25k is the standard for the annual fee. 100% sure everyone and their mother has the wwmc or some other dbs card. for existing customer, that's only 15k left for 8k spending. not even 2mpd friend.

ok. even with that it's just 3.3mpd. hardly fantastic considering you are already losing out on the 25k for the annual fee (more expensive than other banks).

edit: next quarter amex hf will have 5k first spend + 35k bonus miles for 5k spending on top of base 1.8mpd with no exclusions and annual fee waiver. comes with the accorplus as well. just fyi.

bruh... do you read properly?
25k is based on 588 you paid
15 or 35k is based on 8k spending.... so 15k/8k that 1.8 mpd only for existing customer f**king shitty low spend bonus. even AMEX who well known for their stingy mpd give 3.75 mpd spending bonus...
DBS totally take SGan like a fool for giving that spending bonus.

Yes.. this article gives a good analysis of what you are putting across:
https://mainlymiles.com/2022/06/28/...es-sign-up-bonus-for-applications-by-31-july/
Unfortunately the reduced bonus for existing DBS cardholders pushes the cost per mile up to 1.47 cents each, for a total bonus of 40,000 miles, which is much more marginal and would probably only make sense if you place value on the card’s other perks, like a free hotel night stay and the Priority Pass lounge visits.

However, transfer of points to miles require FFP transfer fees, which is typically waived for other premium cards like OCBC voyage, AMEX Plat Card, etc.

a fool will be one giving up 3+ miles/$ but willing to accept lower return on spending, e.g. other general spending cards.

Yup. that why this Vantage card is such a disappointment... can get 1.8mpd general spending with no mcc exclusion on amex kf with $300 ** on $6k spending... bruh... its way more than 3+ mpd....

does your non-mcc exclusion spending always earn more than 3+ mpd. If not, you are leaving money on the table.

this quarter amex hf gave 228 spend off 6k that stacks with the 300 credit on the welcome bonus. that's a 10% cashback on what is essentially cash with a grabpay top-up. and on top of that it gives 1.8mpd. and if you buy flight tickets with it you get 8.5mpd.

next quarter you can choose not to get the statement credit and get 9.8mpd on general spend.
