3 economy class trip = 1 first class trip
2 economy class trip = 1 biz class trip

I rather take more economy class trips as the comfort level of biz and first is not worth lesser trips.

But good to experience biz and first once in life.

Firstly, the math: the proportions are not linear; they don't work that way when you redeem tickets with miles, as you still need to pay for tax, fuel surcharges etc. The math changes a lot. I wrote a little piece some time ago on this here. SQ has since reduced surcharges, but increased the mileage requirement, little has changed in this aspect. Basically, the rule of the thumb is that you get the most bang-for-mile redeeming for business class - not economy, not first class.

Secondly, the motivation: There is really no fun/motivation is earning miles to redeem for economy. The only thing you are getting is a saving of money/discount, and not an experience in itself. It is highly motivating to see your mileage balance grow and your progress to your next premium cabin class flight. If you are really intending to redeem economy, why not just use a cashback credit card? You'll reap the benefits immediately and it will save you loads of trouble indeed.

Thirdly, the experience:
The difference between economy and premium economy (PE) is small. That's probably newspapers, a few inches more legroom. Your backache shifts a little higher up.

The step up from PE to business is MASSIVE. You get proper lounge access (not the crappy priority pass offerings), more luggage allowance than you can use, fast track check-in, fast track security, fast track baggage arrival, and other miscellaneous perks depending on airline (free haircuts, massage, chauffeur/from to airport etc depending on airline). And that's not forgetting the seat that folds into a bed you get to sleep in, real food to eat on board etc. The real magic comes when the aircraft is up, curtains are shut and the elves (I mean drinks) come out
NB: I am not referring to the so-called "business class" you get in short haul aircraft, which is truly glorified economy.

For First, i only go for suite. Otherwise, business is good enough for me.

For me,
economy is basic
business is comfort
first is luxury

To me, short trips (within 5 hours), basic is perfectly fine, in fact, I always try to take budget airlines if possible (minimum basic)

For longer trips, I will prefer business, and I think I am very happy with SQ business product and service, the comfort level is just nice.

I tried SQ Suite once, very good, comfort level is about the same, maybe slightly more, but the luxury level exceeded what I am used to, so, it's a life time experience, and most likely I won't redeem first class in future, unless business run out vacancy.

yea but u save $ on having more trips

Say 3 trips is 3k of saving vs 1 x biz / first

U can say biz/first cost 5k. But u end up paying 2k out if pocket to travel the other 2 trips
