I think he's referring to non refundable rates where the full hotel bill is charged upfront.

Even those are processed offline nowadays. I suspect they 'hold' the amount in the card and then charge it later on in bulk. I can confirm that's the case for spg.

Can confirm for SPG as well, I've never gotten any booking to be charged as online before.

yap, think these are usually processed separately by the respective hotels back-end. Oftentime, when they indicated as non-refundable rates, also nv charged immediately. I once have to contact them a few days after booking to ask them to charge before the month-end.

My non refundable rate was only charged 3 months later and 1 week before my stay :s13:

Hi Everyone, I have never really calculate points awarded for this card till recently. My points just doesn't tally and I asked for a breakdown and I found out that so many of my transactions did not receive the initial 0.6x points and were receiving 1 DBS point for every $5 block instead even though those transactions had SMS OTP but they were not considered online transaction. For example McDelivery. Does anyone know if I can dispute those transactions?

Initial points is 1 DBS point for every $5 block, not 0.6pt/$. The bonus points for online is 9x points ie 1.8pts/$

Thanks for your advice. I went to read few pages back and realized that 0.6x initial point is only for transactions in foreign currency. I shall wait and see i get the bonus points next month.
