Just be the better man/woman - delete the message and block the user. Any reaction to their communication gives them joy/satisfaction.

it's the internet - the person writing you threats is a pathetic keyboard warrior. i'm certain they wouldn't speak to you like that in person. In fact you should invite them out for a coffee where you can pay wirelessly and gain 4 miles to the $1 as a joke...You should be humbled he/she has taken time to write you directly as they're so fond of your input.

You are right and spot on.

The excuses they use are pathetic. They sign up to a forum to leech info and when they have something good they keep to themselves.

Those people who sent you threats is because they are afraid their rice bowl are taken away.

If you really a firm believer of sharing is caring, you can just say, I found out something cool, PM me.

I believe people who learnt from you, if they found out something, they would also share with you via this method.

Using excuses just like someone (who mentioned the same as what one did) that they receive threats for sharing, I think is lame. Yet, saying post AXS I know how to maximize my earnings but not sharing is really pathetic.

Anyway if such threats really took place, what is stopping one to tell the moderator here?

Yep, keyword now is to be selfish, which is why no one (including me) will be sharing the post-AXS winning strategies. It's also because of ppl like saboking who constantly has an ax to grind with people who are good at optimizing their card usage.

It's just so much harder these days when banks have improved analytics and keep on the look out for any usage that is out of their original intentions. We could share things around a bit without worrying too much, but these days, we know that if anything gets shared, it's guaranteed to disappear in the near future. Currently, I'm earning roughly 10k miles a month even without the WWMC, and have optimised my habits based on my needs (which is not quite typical for a normal person in SG). Although if the miles are calculated based on the intended use of the cards and not including those where the TnC suggest it should not be credited, the earnings would be substantially reduced. And none of that fraud-like activities involving booking refundable hotels online, of course. As selfish as it is, if I want to have a round-the-world trip for 2 in business class for my honeymoon, it will have to stay this way.

Sounds similar . I wanted first class trip for 2 and return back in biz or whatever.
Managed to land necessary miles (theoretically) for each person / year . And then got baby - all went away with the planning lol .. well that is life.

Anyway - i see again the debate of share / not sharing .
I still think that is 2 sides of coins that is up to individual preference.

It is true that forum is place of sharing (otherwise why are we here?) but then again it is up to individual what to share. You should not push belief to others. If i don't want to share my winning strategy due my own interest , others should not fault it. If i like to share my own winning strategy because of my belief, others should not threaten / criticize it too.

We should respect each others and not call names to differentiating opinion.

That is all - no more rant from me.

Lol - yah - but well we know before we transfer the points to KF anyway.
So we ended up with other usage for points instead of miles ha...

anyone posting in a forum looking for recognition/social validation saying they've got this loophole that gets you more miles/points than normal and not sharing is rather pathetic.

its not just pathetic, it may not be real. they remind me about the "work from home and earn millions" ads! just ignoring them is best.

am in a similar situation, but might have no choice but to travel with the baby. is there any difference to booking redemption awards with infants?

Thought infants under a certain age who don't need their own seats can travel free of charge? Of course, the rest of the business/first cabins will want to kill you should the infant starts crying...

And under some circumstances, it might not be a bad idea to buy 2 upgradable economy class tickets and use miles to upgrade. Redeeming for business class tickets will require the payment of taxes and surcharges, but buying the economy class tickets first mean the extras are already paid for, and you would also earn miles for the flight. In terms of a straight value comparison, it's still not as good, but it's definitely worth considering if you can't collect enough miles fast enough.

Also be flexible with the airlines, as for some routes, SIA/star alliance may not be the best use of miles.

Googled more and found infants will have to pay 10% of cash fare if they have to travel with adults booked on redemption awards. For example, if i book one way suites to LHR and book an infant ticket, that'll cost me $900! Looks like the infant ticket can only be bought at Ion orchard office.

The problem with upgrades is that you have to book the highest class of economy to be eligible for upgrade. That reduces the value of upgrade dramatically.

Thanks for the suggestion, will check other airlines. But as i mostly have DBS points, i have to choose between SQ and CX.

Why useless ?? 4 miles/$ for online booking/payment (and less exclusion not like UOB PPV and no need have advanced bank relationship like HSBC); still the best for online payment

Is it possible that the dad buys an economy flight with infant, then wife redeem business class without infant?

Nothing stopping u to pass the baby to your wife later rite?

Only thing is u have to sit separately

True, but have you ever thought about the nightmare if there's no bassinet catered in Biz class ? Your wife has to carry the baby all the way. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like for a long haul flight.

Just pay the 10% of full biz fare to get the bassinet. Trust me, it's worth it.

I was advised by SQ to buy the tickets for infants instead of using redemption awards.

Ticket prices for infants is only 10% of adult ticket. Redemption award for infants will cost the same as adult ticket redemption.

Yeah, would suggest you just pay the 10%. Use a credit card that gets you 3 miles per $, eg DBS Altitude or Uob Prvi.
