My typo, in the spreadsheet I typed in 14 instead of 41, guess it's not a good idea to run these things late at night...

Hopefully the numbers will still be right once the 9x points post to the account. :)

I did ask DBS about this before, they say it's 10x for qualifying online transactions (regardless of currency). The 3x is when swiping in foreign currency.

Online should always be 10x. I'm just curious if DBS automatically runs online transactions at 10x or whether they ID the merchant, which sounds like a recipe for trouble and would mean people often having to call in and argue before putting things right and getting a merchant added as a result of this.

DBS has no exception so all online transactions count. Other banks should follow the same.

When an transaction gets authorised, there is a field that identifies if it is an online transaction. For Mastercard, this is identified via the field POS Entry Mode with field value 81. As long as the tx's POS Entry Mode is 81, it is considered an online tx.

Do note that using mobile apps may or may not be eligible for 10x. So far I tried booking tickets using SQ App and was denied 10x due to merchant classification.

Anyways, do keep contributing so I can update the spreadsheet hehe..

Like some hotels, you are probably being charged offline. That's the problem with online purchasing, sometime its not truely online for those companies that have offline entities.

SPG never earned 10x. Ditto Accor, Hilton and Hyatt.

Apparently someone from FT forum did. I'm wondering is it due to the way each hotel handles billing differently. Anyways, looks like this card is not recommended for hotel bookings, gonna update my spreadsheet.

Hmmm, as per my spreadsheet Singtel online bill payment and online season parking renewal earns the 10x. I'm assuming it's from singtel payment portal and the season parking is for HDB. Sorry, I just copy and paste exact words from the person who posted it. I think it should, I remember quite a number of people asking about it before.

StarHub apparently yes if pay via vbox.com.sg, but not sure about direct payment via their own website. Unless someone can confirm that.

Anyone having issues with DBS womens card for internet transactions? Last weekend tried to buy travel insurance from 2 different sites ... FAILED.
Today tried to buy SIM card from optus AU - FAILED
Passport application with ICA was ok and definitely not credit limit busted.

Why not just call the bank hotline to ask? They will tell you why.
