Comgateway gets 10X points as well as other benefits such as prime membership ( free upgrade to express shipping) and 5% off shipping fees.

Thanks! Looking at vPost because they have some advantages over comgateway for larger consignments.

Anyway, trial and error. Will try once and see what happens. :)

IMO, comgateway is miles ahead of vpost. DHL vs singpost, not even on same level. I would recommend you to use comGateway, confirm got 10x. I got like 50 transactions this month.

All else being equal, I agree, and I would prefer to use comgateway, especially for small consignments.

However, when you have larger consignments, vpost is better, because they will determine GST eligibility on a per package basis. For comgateway, they calculate on a consignment basis.

ie, if you have a consignment with 3 packages worth $200 each, vpost will get it in without GST because each package is below GST threshold. comgateway will ask you to pay GST because total value of consignment is $600.

Just a quick question: how do we count the points if a transaction was refunded but to a different amount due to currency issues (and the company withholding a small fee)?

Just deduct the amount of points that would have been earned if this was an outgoing payment and not an inwards one?

Wonder if anybody have experienced buying air tickets direct from ANA website and gotten 10x points. I'm assuming so unless they charge the credit card offline.

miles redemption

Given that its expiry is 1 year, a monthly cap of $2k for 10x points and now that the minimum points redemption for miles is 10,000, I was thinking this card is not very useful for miles right?

Can't think of anyway to spend 2k online consistently every month to make it worthwhile. Some more the FF program costs $44 per dbs card account.

That is why you combine it with a card like Altitude Visa to help you make up the balance.

10k DBS points with this card requires a spending of $5000. $5k a year shouldnt be that hard to achieve.

Assuming u only spent $5k per year on online stuff. $5k on another mile card would only net u 6k miles (assuming a 1.2mile earn rate) versus the 20k miles u can get here.

That 14k miles would easier be worth more than the yearly FF program fees.

Just my 2 cents

Well you can use the FF program for a year then cancel it.

Use the card from Apr 12, so points expire in Jun 13, get the FF program in jun 13 and redeem until jun 14, stop the program in jun 14. Repeat cycle so effectively you pay for FF program once every 27 months? This way can work right?

Does DBS combine the points for miles redemption like UOB?
I remember the CSO told me the FF program is applicable for each card.

From the TnC, it seems that point expiry is strictly 12 months from the date of card account opening date.

"2.8 DBS Points awarded in the first year commencing from the date the Card Account is opened ("Account Open Date"), shall be redeemable only during the period of up to 12 months from the date the Card Account is opened (which will be reflected as the expiry date on the Credit Card statement), failing which the points will expire and be reduced to zero. Points earned in each successive year will expire a year from the earned date

Yes, spending $5k per year is easy e.g book air tickets and hotels.
But the difficulty is breaking the spending over 3 calendar months since the cap per month is only 2k.

I can time it such that I book on the 31st for tickets and 1st for hotels etc. but it will not be $2k sharp. So a lot of wastage and $4k only 8000 points, cannot redeem miles still. Sigh..

Hwmook is right. The points do not expire exactly 12 months after u earn them. They only expire at the end of every quarter.
