Thank you!

Always admire those DCP success cases

I am stuck in no man's land ...... around 10x income

Stay positive! Have you source for other avenue like credit culture or maybe DMP to see can help with your debt? Hang it there!

Roughly in this order:

- HSBC
- SCB
- UOB
- Maybank

I applied to Maybank first and applied 3 days later to DBS. I got my DBS approval first and called Maybank to cancel my application. That was already 15 days since my application to Maybank. They told me mine wasn’t rejected yet but processing wasn’t completed. I think it must be due to the increase in applicants lately.

Actually like some of you here, I am facing the stress of not able to pay my outstanding. I took up DCP on Jan19 after my wedding on Dec18. Most of my outstanding were due to wedding expenses. Wedding dinner, wedding photos, wedding hotels etc and furniture & appliances for my new home..... went outta my hands after some balance transfer and instalment plans I took up. Triggered me to take up DCP after realising I am not able to pay minimum sum.

The mental stress and pressure I am feeling can only be kept within myself. I didnt have anyone to talk to. Even until now. I didnt tell my wife as I dont know how she will react or feel. I also dont want her to feel the burden.

There is now a problem. Because few of my credit card transactions were processed after my application went thru, hence it is not covered by the DCP. not small amount by the way. Is about close to $8K .

Meaning now I am servicing my DCP and I also have to pay those outstanding. Interest is incurring every day.

I am almost breaking down but no one to tell. I cant expect someone to just throw me those $$$ to settle off those balances.

I am nearly on the edge... to make things worse, because my wife who didnt know and I didnt want her to, tells me off that I shdnt be so stingy on things, wants to buy stuffs not know I do not have $$, etc.... the pressure is killing me... and I have to act like I am ok..

I am really sorry to hear that you are going through this. When you are on DCP, you cannot default on that DCP loan at all.

Is it possible for you to speak to your Wife about it? The wedding involved both of you.

I will prioritize payment for DCP.
But other balances are the problematic one which I wont be able to settle the minimum payment.

I dont know how my wife will react and I dont have the confidence to tell anyone.

Thanks for the support. I feel that I should find a solution my own as previously before this **** went so deep, I shared with her about my cc instalments and balance transfers debts, it wasn't of much help. Instead, all I got was reprimanding and angry remarks from her......

I tot this DCP will help me ease my problems. But intended up worse off.

The ups and downs of a marriage (whether good or bad) is to be shared between both husband and wife. Afterall, your spouse is supposed to be the closest person to you once you’re married. It’s someone you chose to spend the rest of your life with.

I didn’t tell my Husband the amount because I know he can’t afford the amount and I could still manage to pay the minimum. But I had to tell him I’m in debt because my employer was restructuring then and they were cutting salaries and jobs. I was in a slightly better position because I still had some cash and stuff to liquidate. But it sounds like you’re at your wits end here. Please share with someone. Don’t let the stress kill you.

Do you wanna seek some help from her to help out with the 8k while u manage your DCP? Guess need to think how to tell her as well. If you think she can’t take it well to know that u are in DCP, then just seek help for that 8k from her first? I think she is the only one that can help u out. For me, I didn’t tell my hubby as well as I doesn’t want to stress him and aft getting into DCP, finances are easier for me to managed.
Jia you! I’m sure there will be a way.
