Hi all, any idea if on DCP can buy car? Given that my HOusing loan have been approved during DCP (last year).I am in my year 2 of DCP and I want to buy a car, able to make a down payment of 50%.

No problem at all. I got a new car from CnC and it's approved. So I guess that DCP is no issue at all.

I guess this is consider secured loan. If unable to pay up, bank can repossess the car and sell off.

If unsecured loan like personal loan or reno loan. Chances of approval is as good as zero.

Hi everyone,

I was previously under UOB DCP but fortunately by a stroke of luck, I managed to get a sum of money to fully repay my DCP loan to UOB.

However, I realised that when I apply for Credit facilities now (Credit cards/Cashline etc), it gets rejected immediately by the bank (in a matter of seconds on their website)

I last check my credit beareu rating, it was at AA..

Would like to check if anyone does have the answer on why is this happening?
Could it be that UOB have yet to remove my name from the DC Registry?

Thanks in advance for kind replies! 🙏🏻

It is possible that your record is still in the DC registry but I am not sure how long it will stay there.

Also, what is the reason why you would like to get new credit facilities? Is it not the case before that you got into DCP because of these credit facilities? Perhaps if you need something for cashless payment, get a debit card instead?

Did my research

Not all participating banks offer DCP. I sent an email to all, currently awaiting reply.

Some banks offer longer repayment periods so you might want to take that into consideration.
Hi, it is not that confusing. I believe that if u had the right banker you wouldn't have an issue understand the entire loan. Are u an avid BT taker? If so it should be even clearer to you if u had a good banker explaining to you. Basically you take an entire sum to clear all your unsecured interest bearing balances, and serve this singular loan as a fixed installment. Should you decide that you want to refinance or take one up, I am quite knowledgeable about this.

Not eligible. Continue to make payments and do not default. 1 default will haunt u 3y. Try to take a loan to 12x but not to use the amount. Try to make a plan to clear more outstanding so that you'll be able to take more fixed installments to clear your outstanding instead of spending more and taking BTs to cover BTs
