Normally a UK degree course 1 year have 3 sem/term which is 3 to 4 modules per sem/term. So the period is not shorten. Your degree course only have 6 modules while I have 9 to 12 modules with the same 1 year duration. So your knowledge learn in Uni level is lesser. On top of that, my degree course is 2 to 3 years part time which is much longer then your course because they only allow students to start 1st or direct 2nd year of 3 years degree course.
Non-accounting/business background will not be considered too in my degree course but you can always take a Dip/Adv Dip from pte sch to enter my degree course which I strongly believe it is the same for your case. Nothing stringent about your degree course entry requirement.
If you talk about sqp, studying in plymouth is one of the easiest & shortest way to get CA Sg.
However in term of competent as a fresh graduate, your knowledge may lose to other D/L accounting degree because you learn lesser. The fact is you did not even learn Taxation for an Accounting and Finance Degree.
oxford brooke is useless. dun waste time on it. people who took is generally for the purpose of pursuing a master program.
I myself am in the plymouth program currently. it takes 1 year to complete. but please dun think its easy. takes commitment as period is shorten. 3 sem a year. this program qualify for exemption to sqp fd program. probably just need to take 2 papers
and when I signed up. SAA give 1k discount if ure from poly.
a plus probably is that the program is a 'top up' but the cert will not mentioned anything. u will receive the full cert as those in the uk
do take note that entry requirement is stringent that is ure are from local polys or have completed acca f1 to f9. non accounting background will not be considered. rationale being u go straight to final year. the school expects u to have a certain level of understanding in the subject.
accountancy dip from other institution are given entry on case by case basis subject to uk approval.
