continue...stressmage's 4770K chip iHs is different and is of better quality, smooth surface and no deep scoring marks.

stressmage IHS clean and smooth...hopefully All intel heatspreader will be make in this way!!!

comparing with this...

A summary of last 3 Gigabyte motherboards came in with chip for delidding.

Stressmage's bundle came in on 29th Dec and collected on 30th Dec.

Thanks Terence for your wonderful feedback :) really appreciated for your comments and compliments!
Seeing your h100i backplate loosely attached to the motherboard socket since it was already tighten, I was like huh! not professionally done by a reputable brand! even cheap rubber washer also doesn't come with it.
I think now, it is so much easier to install your Cpu block with a firm bracket mounted onto the motherboard, not as though with bracket moving about when installing. Am I right?
Anyone with this issues, do let me know, I can source for this rubber washer for you. Free of charge!
Feel free to pm me :)
Nice temp!
Thanks for your support Sir :)
Thks Simon for its wonderful job! he even added washers for me seeing how crapping the h100i backplate is! can see how dedicated he is man!

Before Delidding, AVX priming will get my 4770k@4.2ghz 1.25v to 97c peak and a night of bf4 will peak my cpu to 64c
All this with a h100i/gt-ap15 @ 7v with demciflex filter, temp after delidding is extremely even, before its a different of 10~15c between core!
Now this is the picture after delidding!!!:songdah:

Goondo's package(3 items inside) was sent to my house today, 5th Jan 2014

Impact ITX with 4770K...

4 digits on the PCB matches your intel box SN.

Delidded!

After cleaning the PCB, 1st coating of Lacquer applied...

IHS polished to a shine and outer IHS perimeter was sand down, uneven surface.

Tmr will mount the chip into the socket(Lacquer needs time to dry for inbetween coatings and hardened).

Narsus told me to help him find a rubber washer to fix this "rocking" Corsair H100 mounting bracket.
Push down....and

Pull up....rocking Corsair mounting bracket!!! Why so much clearance?
QC so bad? or can't even supply cheap rubber washer or cut cost.

The same guy before him, I did fixed it for him.
Unfortunately, the shop no longer carried it, so no more rubber washer.
Surely it can be improvised...using rubber grommets?

Indeed even backplate also so thin!!! on Diet?

Ok - I'm soooo glad I said I was new to cooling...ahem biggrin.gif:D:D:D:D
I did what mindblowingj advised (nice name by the way) and removed the block to re-apply the compound. I thought I would try arctic 5 between the die and IHS see if that made a difference.
Well....I am now Prime Testing with a 4.5GHz and temps around 60 degrees. That would be approx 40 degrees down from previous set -Up....MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
And the reason for the crap temps - Wel ya know that plastic protective bitty on the cooling block, Its not very conductive is it biggrin.gif:D:D:D
Just for info...never might know.

At the moment, I think I have only seen people re-using the IHS after delidding. Has anyone here seen it being used without the IHS? Any idea how fragile the core is if a heatsink is placed directly onto it?

was wondering this as well, but no one replied in this thread yet... GPUs right now don't have IHS so why the processors have?

I think there would be space between the cooler and the cpu without the IHS。 without full contact the result might be disastrous

Because a big number of end users have clumsy fingers.
When amd used to have its Athlon and duron t bred range, it had no ihs. I crushed 3 cores out of maybe 10-12 that I played with over the years.

And I'm sure many here can attest to having done so.

I never crushed any of my Athlon dies but those damn clips required so much force to get them hooked. Since we had to use a screwdriver to push the clip down, I feared the tool slipping and stabbing a hole in the mobo...
