Am the proud owner of a Dell 6000. Got it about 2 months ago. Good solid laptop, just a bit heavy at 3 kg.

Soon-to-be owner of Dell 700m :)

Always got to carry a lot of stuff around. Also don't like using laptop keyboard and touchpad so must carry own devices. Cannot take something too heavy. Not even 510m.

But dunno something. Read some reviews that the 64MB shared memory sucks compared to 32MB dedicated video. So what can I play? The most demanding games I play are games like TFT, etc. No D3 or HL2 for me.
hmm wise chose, 700m is nice but recommend you upgrade to the 8 cell battery as the 4 cell 1 lasts only 2 hours..

6000 series is a workhorse so the weight is a little heavy.

6000 could completely replace the 8600 if it weren't for the fact that video upgrades are so limited. They practically force you to go for the 9XXX series if u want some serious gaming.

Yup. I did. I read the reviews that the 4-cell battery sucks and so upgraded the primary battery to the 8-cell one for $25 or so.

But friend, what is the limit of the 64MB shared graphics memory? i.e. What can I not play?

Hehe, of course. These things are better left for my desktop to handle. And for me, the screen is a bit too small for awesome gaming.

At that kind of price, the 700m is a great bargain. Slim and sexy!

i will not call 700m slim...it abt the same height as a cheeseburger... hahah...

The worst thing abt it is the reflective screen. It is nice in the first few weeks after a while find it a sore eye...all the lights just make my eye very tired easily..

okie,i am just with 700m for half a day. Here is what i hate.

Con
1) The keys is way too small. Keep pressing the wrong keys.
2) When install stuff from the CD, it can get kinda of loud and i can really the cd move.
3) The battery is only 3 cell. so remember to upgrade.
4) It is reflective screen.
5) The plastic crack easily. After a hard knock against the wall, the base crack.
6) The paint come off easily
7) There seem to be something wrong with connecting to a projector. ( no time to troubleshoot, someone please confirm )
8) The firewire got problem. ( no time to troubleshoot, someone please confirm)

Pro
1) cheap
2) reflective screen ( It look kinda of cool)
3) small
4) light
5) the power adapter wire is easy to keep. not much mess

All this is all my personal view.

wifi only. how good or bad depends on what u want to do with it. if ur using for email/surfing/word processing, then no problems. but not 3D gaming

Yours comments arent accurate, ill correct them for you.

okie,i am just with 700m for half a day. Here is what i hate.

Con
1) The keys is way too small. Keep pressing the wrong keys.
It is an ultraportable, if you want a full size keyboard, get 510m, 6000 or 9300.

2) When install stuff from the CD, it can get kinda of loud and i can really the cd move.
Hope your not a 1st time laptop user because this is the case for all laptops

3) The battery is only 3 cell. so remember to upgrade.
It is 4 cell.

4) It is reflective screen.
u list this as both a pro and a con ???

5) The plastic crack easily. After a hard knock against the wall, the base crack.
After 1/2 a day and you can damage it? simply amazing :)

6) The paint come off easily
Same problem as fujitsu at palmrest but some careful users dont have this problem

7) There seem to be something wrong with connecting to a projector. ( no time to troubleshoot, someone please confirm )
You have to toggle the output.

8) The firewire got problem. ( no time to troubleshoot, someone please confirm)
How do we troubleshoot where we dont know the problem

Pro
1) cheap
yes

2) reflective screen ( It look kinda of cool)
its not for the cool factor, its to make the screen appear brighter

3) small
yes
4) light
yes
5) the power adapter wire is easy to keep. not much mess
yes
