computer turns off completely. This can take several seconds.

Under normal circumstances, you only need to press the power button once to turn ON the laptop.

I faced the same problem before.

Uninstall your bluetooth driver. Shutdown and go to BIOS. Disable your Bluetooth in BIOS.
Turn on into OS again and shutdown. Go into BIOS again and re-enable your bluetooth.
Proceed back to OS and reinstall your bluetooth driver. You will see the blue LED again.

Please note: If you need to re-format your OS, make sure that your BT is enabled before shutdown to re-format. Else, upon re-installing your OS, the OS will not detect the bluetooth device and you will need to re-enable it from BIOS again.

Till date, I have formatted my 1420 7x times.
