i've seen Dell's XPS 1530 configuration on the AU's site. appears to be better and alot cheaper than the SG configuration. hmmmm, but i guess the warranty's international also.. so any diff from ordering from AU instead of SG ?

How old is your 640m??
I am also using a 640m also 1.66GHz, it's a T5500 chip.

Just received the keyboard cover today. Fits perfectly on my inspiron 1420.

I was initally worried when I saw the package, a post card sized envelope as the cover would have been folded multiple times to fit into it. But upon unfolding, there were no bendlines at all.

Typing is just as comfortable, just that the prints aren't that too visible which is to be expected of silicon covers I think.

It's a great value considering that I had previously bought a clear cover from Popular for the same price which claimed to fit 14" notebooks but blocked the vent holes at the side and 2 USB ports and its straps prevented me from opening the disk drive.

Delivery took 7 days for me including the chinese new year holidays.

Strongly recommended for all Dell 1420/1330 users.

hi, sorry to bother, planning to buy a laptop...looking at M1530 or Inspiron 1520..any recommendations?

Using it for work and study as well as playing game like FIFA 08....or they are other recommendations...nv use a DELL before so not sure the warranty and stuffs like that....thanks!!

I would recommend the M1530, nicely built notebook.

Yes. Extended warranty by Courts. Dell comes with 1 year On-site warranty already. But you can purchase another 2 years extended warranty by Courts for $275 (Dell promotion, if not have to pay $380-$480 for other brands). Covers unlimited international repairs and accidental damage. Accidental damage like cracked screen (replace once for free), water spillage leading to short circuit (change to a new set at equal price at time of purchase even though it's eg. 2 years later then spill water), as well as battery damage (once only). After these one-time major exchanges/repairs, unlimited repair warranty continues till the 1+2=3 years is up.

hmm i jus took over a laptop from my uncle and was wondering wat i have to do in terms of warranty? i know that i have to submit a "transfer of ownership" form to dell but is it that necessary since i have the service tag no? can someone pls verify before i email dell. thanks!

I think your uncle have to fill an Ownership Transfer form informing Dell of the name and address of the new owner.

I have a questions. Just got myself a inspiron 1540...
The specs are:
T7250 running @ 2.0
2g ram
But the funny thing is that when i run cpuz on the laptop,
it shows the following instead, anyone can tell me why?

core speed : 1595.7 199.4x8 & 1999 199X10 (it jumps between the 2?)

I was thinking bout that too.. But is it good to have it enabled? cos i understand its Dells way of preserving energy or something like dat. Only when the com is put to work, the device will activate accordingly to provide efficiency?
