oh and does anyone uses vostro 1400?? does it get really hot under ur left palm when the laptop is running cpu intensive programs?

i just got a vostro 1500. 2 days old.. company issued.. will let u know if i experienced anything.
so far any prob for this dell laptop? first time user of dell laptop. used acer, ibm previously.

yeah..its great so far...jus that it gets hot on the left palm rest when i start playing COD4

and i also jus realised that the gfx has 256mb memory...i thought it was only 128? is it the turbocache or something like that??

if it is, where do i tweak it further?

Hi guys,

im thinking of getting the dell XP M1330 3GB. Like to find out the pros and cons of it. Also, possible to change vista to XP? can they install it and do i have to buy from dell directly? Thanks!

if you are running on ac adaptor, disable it to run at max speed

Yes. It has a 3.5G sim card slot. Only available for use with TELCOS in JAPAN/EUROPE/USA. None of our Telcos in Singapore supports the technology currently. Hence, the sim card slot is for future use IF any of our telcos venture into that technology. As you know, Dell is a global brand, this additiional feature is no surprise.

Dell USA is letting their users customize laptop already, somemore with name engraving. If it comes to Singapore i'm sure it will be a good competition for Dell, maybe cheaper prices?

Correction.
Dell's HSDPA modules are firmware locked to US Telcos like Cingular, Vodafone and EVDO.

That does not mean local telcos are not ready, in fact it has been in use for more than a year by M1 and Fujitsu

Does changing the ram on dell laptops void the warrenty ?

Changing ram on ANY laptop does not void the warranty. Only desktops of every brand other than Dell. Dell encourages you to upgrade your desktop if there's a need.
