Go into your BIOS and check the settings for wireless adapter.

You can turn your computer’s wireless networking function on and off by pressing the <Fn><F2> key
combination.

If the wireless networking function is turned on, press <Fn><F2> to disable it.

If the wireless networking function is turned off, press <Fn><F2> to enable it.

The wireless activity indicator provides an easy way to monitor the status of your computer’s wireless
devices.

Right-click the Dell QuickSet icon in your taskbar to select or deselect Wireless Activity
Indicator Off to turn the wireless activity indicator on or off.

Danks. XPS 1530 user here. My battery only last max 1hour sia... I didn't play any games but I did turn on song playing for like 30minutes... Is it only me or my lappy battery or vista's uber battery su*king ability?

When you get a new laptop, charge and discharge battery for 9 hours for 3 successive days.

Calibrate your battery once a month (discharge until the laptop shutdown automatically)

Use adapter when using CD/DVD-ROM for prolong period.

Lower LCD brightness whenever you use battery.

So far so good, performance wise. ppl say fugly, but i think it look quite professional leh, but bad thing ish heavy lo.. Quite happy with it, since weight is not an issue with me.. Startup at vista business eats 1gb of ram.. the GPU tends to heat up easily.. 1 thing to note is better upgrade battery 6 cell cannot last long with 8600.. opted for true life screen, dun have the stupid reflection problem cos the gpu have enuff brightness to overcome it..

Temperature ranges from 35-55 degress.. higher if run 3d games not a bad buy if u want performance over mobility

The design of this system is rather spartan, but also very professional with the solid black styling. It’s not flashy like a high-end gaming laptop would be, but it doesn’t look bad to my eyes. The LEDs have a nice saturated blue color, though Dell was inconsistent in the styling. Several lights, including the battery level LEDs, the CD drive LED, and the “Wi-Fi Catcher” LED are green. In addition, the low battery light is an odd shade of hot pink, which fits with nothing else in the system. While this is by no means a major functional concern, I would have preferred the colors to be more consistent. I also dislike the hot pink color the battery light turns when the battery reaches a low level
