I think the answer for the both of you is to just call them, or if you happen to be in Funan or Suntec you can ask them at their booths... But I agree about the AC wire, a little too short, as I one time said "Er excuse me, is this seat taken?" in the National Library. Then after setting up my equipment I got up, plugged the AC to the wall socket, traced the cord to the edge, suddenly the cord felt so tight, then like a bloody fool, I soon realized the cord was just too short... LOL. I shifted seats soon after.... And I guess she wondered why I changed after asking her if the seat is taken... And... people DID stared at me.

So yeah if they do, I like to request a longer one as well - IF it exists -

can get one for one of us here?

Used my manager's staff purchase to get it. Limited to 3 sets per staff per year. He gave up his last one for me. LoL. :D

Studio line definitely looks much better. Especially to replace the 15" and 17" ones.

Hoping to receive my laptop in...2 weeks! :D

actually the problem with my notebook is the pointing stick and its left and right buttons, however touchpad is working fine with the set of touchpad's set of buttons (left/right)

i tried a few troubleshooting methods already, even also the dell diagnostics but doesnt seem to be able to move the cursor or click with the pointing stick.

anymore info i can supply? or try to resolve the problem?

An unpeasent purchase from Dell.

OMG! I really regret on buying notebook from Dell....

I drop my company notebook last Sunday and need to purchase a new notebook for work urgently, I place an order of Vostro 1400 from web at 1 th July, thinking that it should take only about one week or so to deliver to me like the customer officer told me....but end up the estimated delivery time is 21th July!!!!! :s31:

Call/Email them to ask if they unable to deliver earlier , I would want to cancel the order to get other brand from shop because I need a notebook urgently , and they told me I will still need to pay a $60 if to cancel the order!! And they advise me to wait from a few more days before cancel the order , with no promised that they would try to speed up the process... :(

What a lousy service Dell have!!! If Buy a Acer or other brand from shop I would have already get the computer long time ago! I think I will not buy anything from Dell anymore ,and I would advice those want to buy from them think twice, I cant imagine with this type of arrogant attitude what would happen if my Dell note book have problem next time.

Really disappointed with Dell, I remember their service USED to be fast and good.... Is it because they are earning too little from this deal?

:(

Got mine for $2100 under staff purchase. Only difference compared to yours is that mine is 320GB HDD 5400RPM.

Staff purchase as in dell employee? Woah, thats really a steal. I thought mine was a steal. Paid 2.2k for fully upgraded red xps m1330 but that was purchased in msia.

My current Dell came in about a week earlier than the given delivery date.

1) I ordered mine last time just 2 weeks before CNY, plenty of orders and estimated delivery date is about 1 month later. But in the end 5 days later and 2 days before CNY they delivered.

2) If everyone order already then cancel, a lot of cost involve leh. The whole reason u get it cheaper is because they dun keep stock and its made to order (shouldn't everyone knows about this by now??) I'm sure u call the plumber come your house check already nothing wrong, you just say thank you and he leave?? I think u have to pay him for service call man.

3) Ok maybe you really dunno they made to order. If you dunno from point number 2 then now i pointed it out to u, u shouldn't be angry and unfair to them anymore. If you know about it, then U SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT OTHER BRANDS ARE RETAIL SHOP TO GET IT ON THE DAY ITSELF!

From the way u said it, it seems to me that they are not arrogant, maybe their tone was firm which seems arrogant to you cos you already gan cheong at having no laptop to use. To me, it sounds like you are the more unreasonable one, not having found out more about how their system work.

One good service i can quote is, when my laptop died. They patiently diagnose it was either the CPU or motherboard issue, so i waited till monday to call and they told me for my laptop, i am entitled to weekend service even. Then tuesday they came down to my house, change my CPU, not the problem, then take it out, change the motherboard and test, BINGO!! Fixed everything back then ask me test, things are fine and he left. NEXT working day!!! I've called Dell about 3-4 times back in my company and they never fail to be prompted in their service and they call u back.

U try HP, me and my colleagues called up 4-5 times on different days, collected my company's email and tel. no. Then no call back, no email. Called them again, still nothing happening, only call 3rd time then they finally sent someone down. The company printer was left sitting there not working for almost a month cos HP (or the company it subcontract to) simply refuse to return calls.

One more thing to add, i went to Dell counter that time to ask for certain information during the computer show last year, the Dell guy gave us a lot of useful information and even told us we might wanna try walking around the PC show to look at others too. I think they earn commission too for every laptop sold but he was more keen for us to get what we want rather than get it from Dell, if its not what we wanted.

Anyway, we didn't even do that and we immediately bought it from him. It seems to be most Dell people knows what they are saying.

If he earns commission for every laptop sold in the PC show, that's weird. Haha. He's just being too helpful for his own good.

Yea malaysia Dell deals are much better. Only thing is that if you have someone there to receive it for you and send it over. :D

In M'sia, can buy from retail outlets (not Dell but IT retail outlets) too. E.g Jusco. Cash and carry. Cheaper and they add in graphic cards inside too.
