Yea, precisely the fact why I only buy Dell notebooks... I hate travelling to some stupid repair center only to wait and wait and wait till the cows all go home and they still have no idea what is going on (referring to acer...lousiest brand I've encountered)...jazzyjay said:My company have been using DELL for the past 9 years. So far so good. No doubt that the
designs are not as chio as other brands but the after sales service (3 year warranty) is worth
it. No doubt for business users & higher ends models the 3 yrs warranty are included, but for
normal home users, you can opt for extended warranty at a small price. I used to have an
inspiron 7000, inspiron 8000 and inspiron 8100 & now using precision M60. All with 3 yrs
warranty. No hassle when problems arised. Give them a call, next day, the service guy will
come & attend to your needs. You can straight away continue your work. Some brands need
to be carry-in or send to the maker for repair & it could take weeks before you can use it.
Not that I am promoting DELL but this is the fact that they have rendered a good service
that is valueable for those workaholic personel to continue working without any long wait
for their notebooks to be repaired. Waiting time is cut short. Time is $$$... I just hope that
DELL will come up with new ergonomics & aesthetics designs like others without
compromising on their after sales services. I have repaired my keyboard, mouse pads,
HDD (many times) & CD-Roms. All free. So, no worries. And DELL has one of the highest
resolution of TFT displays. For my case, my display is 1920x1200.
Just my 2 cents..![]()

My LCd res is also 1920x1200... sweet sharp display... makes the rest of the notebooks out there looks pixelated...
