Proud owner of DELL 6000 too, 2 months +, using it for my tertiary edu.

Pros, (lets put the 128mb integrated gfx card aside), i think it's a capable and robust machine, the speakers play decent sound quality, compared to the muffled quality other notebook's speaker might produce. 512mb ddr-ii system memory,

to be continued.. (busy now)

Dell Inspirion 9300 arrives tomorrow!

I couldn't resist the $750 off coupons any longer...

I just hope UPS doesn't do a number on it, like they did with my friend's Gateway, back about 10 years ago. It was a mess. :D

Got a few questions on the Dell Inspiron 700m, so hoping some users can help.

Q1: Will installing your own additional RAM void the warranty? I'm thinking of just getting the 256 MB RAM option if it's available, then buying the additional 512 MB RAM to install it myself.

Q2: Upon normal use (not idle but say using Microsoft Word), does the notebook get noticeably warm to use or touch?

Thanks.:)

A1: No, just change back to original if you send for servicing.
A2: Not sure abt 700m, but should be pretty alright....just warm, not hot, as least for mine :p

if using dell laptop, when using the adaptor for power supply need to take out the batt or just left it intact?
if there is any good tips regard usage of laptop batt i will be more glad

never leave your battery in the laptop, UNLESS you're gonna use it without power supply at all.

So at anytime if you're using power from the plug, remove the battery :)

Put the battery in, only if you want to charge :)

My Dell 1150 currently have 256 Ram.
have anyone upgraded your ram b4?

Can anyone recommend any reliable and reasonable shop in Sim Lim Sq for buying another 512 MB? Oh yes, and the price if anyone knows.

This piece of 512 should be able to fit into my future Dell 700M, rite? I just take out and fit into the next dell, correct?

Anyone? Thanks.

Hmnn... Is it cheaper to get a dell laptop during PC show or online?

If seem like the price for 700m rise after the PC show.

Hi, I'm using 700m too. Has anyone successfully tried connecting the S-video port to any output devices (e.g . TV, projector)?
