actually, one easy way that many people like me did, is to go Add/Remove Programs, delete all the bloatwares, rather than the reinstall.

for your bluetooth problem, go to Dell download site for the latest driver, see if it works. If not you may have to install a 3rd party driver.

So u got the bag? Do u hv any pic for the bag? me having a big problem searching for 17"inch bag whci fit nicely.

One advice for those who want to carry their laptops with panache. Try going for a sleeve instead of a laptop bag. A laptop bag just looks kinda lika a laptop bag. :s31:

A sleeve (preferably neoprene for waterproofing and padding) will allow you to toss your lappy into any stylish carryall, backpack, briefcase or whatnot (assuming of course that it can fit). Gives you a lot more options. Plus usually they are cheaper than laptop bags which just scream, "STEAL ME NOW!"

You still got alot of memory resident software or registry entries that you can't really easily remove with "remove program". It'll be faster of course, but nothing beats a fresh install. Otherwise, you're just running a crippled laptop, especially since Dell packs the most worthless bunch of **** into their machines.

actually those padding cushion cover not cheap either cost $25-$40........
FX creation bag is not bad....nice and don really look like typical laptop bag....price resonable too.......

Yeah, actually saw some FX creation bags at the department store one floor below lido. They looked quite nice with the sleek black look. But I thought they cost $60 up? Could be wrong I guess. $25-40 is considered quite cheap (all relative of course to the price of nice laptop bags that cost anywhere from S$60 to US$250, excluding all those ridiculously priced Gucci, Versace and other hoity toity brands) Just offering a suggestion for those who don't just want to go out and get a cheap sub $50 notebook bag.

Tks for the pic. I dun think i can find a better bag than urs to fit my 17'inch model.(cos the bag is dell) i been lookin for a better bag since last wkend but fail to find any which fit good.

Generally, I don't carry my lappy around especially this newly acquired monster :s13: The bag is for my storage when the lappy is not in use else my beagle will just love to give it a bite.

Btw, face any problem with your i9300? So far, I'm happy with this lappy. The keyboard is kinda lousy. The sound is not that bad.

That's excatly what I did. Format the hd including the hidden partition. See no use and this takes up over 50mb of hd space. Reinstalled the system with the necessary drivers and proggies. It does speed thing up a bit.

Oh yes, I did a full disk backup using Acronis Drive Image before I format the hd - to be on a safe side.

I'm using a I6000 1.5Ghz (400mhz ram speed) can i install one piece of 533mhz 1024MB ram on her? Will it work? Will they run on 533mhz?

Why don't u give DELL's support a call? Or u can check out their users' forums on this subject.

It should work, but it will run at only 400MHz, since your front-side bus is 400MHz.

Just like to check with u. Does your battery lights (the row of leds on the battery pak) light up when u power on your 9300?
