Don't remove DELL QuickSet otherwise you'll have problem checking your battery's charged %.

It can also mess up you Hibenation.

If you don't care too much about MediaDirect, you can format the whole hard disk and install only the program you need.

Does anyone know if I will be able to upgrade the video card?

Can't play any of the latest games with the default video card.

Will the warranty be void if I change?

is those softwares from Dell important, cos i got a windows xp pro cd which i can use for installation for the laptop, so i would get a laptop with xp home, if i do a full format and install xp pro, can it be done? those softwares from Dell is it essential ?

If you think the software on your DELL is not important, you can use the Windows XP CD provided to reformat your computer.

All the drivers are on the Driver and Utilities CD.

Be prepared to loose MediaDirect; this program allows you to play CD/DVD without loading Windows. I think it's useless.

U mean the drivers for Dell laptop are on the Driver and Utilities CD that Dell will provide when i purchased from them ? (sorry, i'm new to Dell...) Oh, MediaDirect is for that use, think its quite useless for me too...

Anyway, whats the difference between 640m and 6400? is it just the screen size only ??
