Just called dell for xps quote.. sales says new model in already...

I asked. The Shipping only begins on the 20th July, so even if you order now, expect to get it after the 20th July.

Hey mates,

Been wanting to get a lappy for my overseas trips but purposes are only for surfing, movies and probably some games.

I've looked at Dell and will probably settle with Dell but I do not know which series to opt for. We have the InspironTM 1520 and InspironTM 6400. Which one would serve my cause better? If any, please kindly state which series and model.

I have a budget of $2k and any lower would be better for my wallet. Please kindly advice.

Thank you.

Get the inspiron 1420. You won't want to carry a 15.4" laptop overseas.

After hunting for a NB since last Sept. ( yes almost 1 yr)...I think this will be the unit I will be getting...

Model : Inspiron 1420
Screen : 14.1"
CPU : C2D 1.8 (800 mhz)
Ram : 2 GB ( default bundle)
HDD : 120 GB SATA drive
Graphic : Nvidia Geforce Go 8400M GS with 128 MB ( + $79.8)
Warranty : 2 yrs on site
Wt : ~ 2.4 kg
Color of casing : to be decided.

Price : $1762.95 ( inclusive of GST & delivery)

With just configuration, wonder what else are they are going to bundle with during the Sept show.

The closest that I can think of during the june pc show were Asus AF8 series but tat one was abt $2k with just 1 GB ram and LG also had a similar configuration also in the 19xx region.

I think it is a very good price for the new FSB 800 chip. Furthermore, with 3 years completecover.
