To my knowledge, dell consumer line of Centrino2 will only be out in 2nd week of Sept.

New XPS versions will be in Nov.............

Rite now only the Office "E" series have the Centrino2s.......

how to enable chinese text in dell laptop?

I m using Dell Inspiron 1420. I need to use chinese fonts (pinyin input). Can anyone advise how can i activate it? I cant seem to find the chinese characters fonts. Also why is it that i only see garbage on some chinese sites? How can i make my laptop able to read the chinese text? I need to toggle between english and chinese for my wordprocessing, just like in Windows XP, but without the need to install software like chinese star.

aprpeciate any Dell expert's advice. :s22:

To read chinese text you can go to Control Panel - Regional & Language Settings - Administrative tab - Language for non unicode programs - change system location to Chinese simplified. Should be able to read most chinese liao.

To type chinese just donwload a chinese input program. I am using sougou.

Where can i bring the dell notebook for servicing when then warranty run out?

call DELL hotline and choose technical support... they dont have a service center but they come to your house to do onsite!! just visit www.dell.com.sg to get their hotline number and prepared your serial and you service tag number!

Bro... You can see RAM icons at the back of your lappy.... Just use a plus/philip screwdriver to open it.... Replace the RAMS... Before you do that.. Just make sure it's compatible with your lappy...I just upgraded my DELL 9400 to 4GB....

Sure you can!! but damn ex le... better if you repair youself... find guides online and buy parts from pchub.com or ebay.com (US Site)

just think quite impossible how come a business series laptop can have this kind of quality... totally inacceptable... my keyboard now got problem liao... 'y' key become touch sensitive liao. but the dell service people also never take down my problem nor give me solutions to it... even though the engineer came down 3 times but never bring the parts also..

Claim it before 1 year...bang table if you have to.... if after 1 year.... they will NOT replace it for you!! I extended my warranty to 5 years and damn it!! they dont cover batteries and keyboards or lappy shells/casing...

Anyway after a few times you see them opening up your lappy .. I believe you shouldnt have any issue opening it up your self to replace the keyboard DIY style... and DELL wouldn't VOID your warranty because there is NO warranty stickers... Try getting your keyboard online....
